Improved Command Results Page Experience 

We have made key updates to the Command Results page to improve performance and usability:

  • New Pagination Bar – We have added a pagination bar to replace infinite scrolling for easier navigation.
  • Customizable Columns – Use the new Edit Columns button to choose the specific data you want to display.

Password Manager

Password Manager is now supported in the EU region. You can now select the region you're in before activating your account. This option will be available on the activation page for desktop app and on the pairing page for browser extension.

Dynamic Groups

Admins can now create rules for Dynamic Groups, both User and Device, with more flexible conditions and operators. The Rule Builder Complexity Enhancements support:

  • Adding the same attribute multiple times supporting the combination of different operators with the same attribute.
  • The OR operator between attribute conditions in addition to the existing AND operator - at this time, all rules must be combined with either OR or AND.
  • Use of OR (i.e., multiple values) with all operators, including those specific to ODS - contains, startswith, endswith, not contains.

JumpCloud AI Search (Public Preview)

JumpCloud AI Search is your Admin Portal expert, enabling quick searches, report and list generation, and step-by-step support all within the Admin Portal. This tool goes beyond basic search, offering a dynamic way to get answers and manage your IT environment. Additionally, it integrates seamlessly with improvements to JumpCloud Reporting.

Reporting Phases 2 and 3 (Public Preview)

Reporting Phase 2 brings an updated UI, enhanced search capabilities, and new report types to help you get started. Phase 3 builds on those improvements by adding the ability to save reports and offering expanded search operators for more precise analysis.

Set the Primary User of a Device

You can now set the primary user of a device which simplifies device ownership identification and lays the groundwork for future enhancements.

  • Automatic Assignment: Primary users are automatically assigned during enrollment flows like Self-Service Account Provisioning (SSAP) and Apple Device Enrollment (ADE).
  • Manual Updates: For existing devices, you can set the owner in the Admin Portal. For bulk changes, use the PowerShell Module CSV upload functionality or utilize custom scripts.

Unified JumpCloud Protect Experience for Push and TOTP MFA

Admins can now enable the unified MFA experience, allowing users to leverage both JumpCloud Protect Push and TOTP authenticator code MFA. These enhancements aim to provide both increased security and improved ease of use for users.

Devices: Self-Service Account Provisioning (SSAP) Windows Policy

We've introduced a new policy that allows you to customize SSAP behavior on Windows devices, offering more granular control over how users bind their JumpCloud accounts. This policy includes the following options:

  • Always Enabled: Ideal for kiosks and shared devices, allowing multiple users to self-provision accounts.
  • Enabled (Default): Allows only the first user to self-provision their account.
  • Disabled: Prevents users from self-provisioning accounts.

New Users List Experience

The Users List page in your Admin Portal has been updated. Expect all the familiar features and functionality, now with an even better experience.

Key Features:

  • New Page Layout - customize and display your user information with enhanced Column Management. New Pagination options will speed up your page load time.
  • Improved Search and Filters - a free text search field has replaced the legacy dropdown. Easily view and select frequently used filters with no restriction on the number of filters used.
  • Views -  easily save private or public views that can be used and edited at a later time. JumpCloud-created Quick Views are available to immediately see your most important user information without any setup.
  • Bulk Actions - add users to groups, change user state or send reset TOTP emails in one bulk action.
  • Export Options - export your current view, selected users or all data to a JSON or CSV file.

Improved SSO and Identity Management Applications Experience

This update to the Applications page lays the groundwork for future planned improvements to SCIM integrations. We will be releasing those improvements to the Applications page incrementally, so keep checking back for updates to the experience.

The first set of enhancements are:

  1. New Page Layout - the legacy aside view has been changed to a full page.
  2. New Actions menu - as part of the full-page interface update, the side information panel has changed.
  3. Improved Export Attribute Mapping list - a read-only list showing the required and optional SCIM user attributes is available immediately after creating a prebuilt connector.

Introducing Password Policies!

With Password Policies, you can now implement targeted security strategies by creating unique password policies for specific user groups. You can customize settings for complexity, aging, lockout, and recovery emails to perfectly match the needs and risk profiles of different teams.

Key Features

  • Customized Password Policies: Admins can create unique password policies to meet diverse security requirements.
  • User Groups Assignment: These tailored policies can be applied directly to specific user groups, ensuring relevant controls.
  • Granular Settings: Admins can define specific password requirements such as password complexity, aging, lockout, and recovery email settings.
  • Customizable Policy Precedence: Admins can set the order of precedence for password policies, effectively managing users who belong to multiple groups with conflicting password rules.

SaaS Management V3 is live!

  • This release adds Security Insights and Email Notifications.
  • Security Insights help you pinpoint and mitigate risks with SaaS apps and their connected applications.
    • Using supported SaaS Management Connectors, identify shadow, shared, and former employee accounts, assess high-risk OAuth permissions assigned via Google, and analyze App to App connections. 
  • Email Notifications automatically inform admins when SaaS apps and accounts are discovered and when license renewals are approaching.

Alert Notifications are here!

You can now configure dedicated email notification channels in JumpCloud to manage alert notifications with customizable recipients and rule-specific routing.

Key Capabilities

  • Configure Email Channels: Admins can now set up email notification channels from the Global Settings page.
  • Flexible Recipients: Channels can include both admin recipients and non-admin email addresses (such as, [email protected])
  • Alert Rule Binding: These email channels can be added to specific alert rules.
  • Notification Options: You can choose to receive notifications for alert creation, alert resolution and acknowledgement.

Conditional Access Policies

We've released two new managed Chrome conditions for access policies. Platform and Platform Prime customers can configure conditional access policies so that users must access the JumpCloud User Portal and/or SSO apps through a managed Chrome browser, managed Chrome profile, or both. Learn more:

Password Manager

Enhanced Capability and App Performance:

  • We have scaled the app to store up to 13,000 items (with autofill feature).
    • One shared folder can store up to 5,000 items.
    • If you use PWM to store items without using the autofill feature, the app can store up to 30,000 items.
  • We have introduced the Move All items button in shared folders to move all items from a folder at once.
  • We have improved the app performance during bulk operations even for numerous items.
  • We have significantly reduced the time necessary for syncing a large number of items.
  • We have enhanced app performance and loading speed.

UI Enhancements:

  • The items list is now paginated, displaying 100 items on one page.
  • We have removed the ‘scroll to item’ feature for global search result selection. Now the selected item is highlighted on the top of the list. 
  • For 2FA items, the password view for Connected Password link opens in the same tab instead of redirection to go back to the original 2FA item.
  • A loading indicator is now displayed while importing items. 
  • The number of total items is shown only for the selected folder.

Bug Fixes:

  • Searched items will now show up in the details view for paginated lists of items.

Miscellaneous:

  • Admins can install and/or update the password manager desktop app using the new command template v.2.0.0 on Windows and macOS devices. Users will no longer need admin permissions to update the password manager app after running this command once. See Install and Update The JumpCloud Password Manager App to learn more.
  • Auto-lock schedule limit is introduced. The app gets auto-locked by default after 15 minutes of no activity. The maximum is 1440 minutes (24 hours).
  • We have enhanced app security.

Dynamic Device Groups

We've added two new attributes to the dynamic device groups rule configurator:

  • Release Name allows you to filter for specify versions of Windows Editions, such as 24H1 and 24H2
  • Device Display Name allows you to filter by the (editable) JumpCloud Device Name field

Device Management

We’ve added a number of new capabilities in our MDM/EMM space over the last month:

Apple

  • Devices added through Apple Business Manager/Apple School Manager now auto-sync to JumpCloud every 24 hours.

Google/Android

  • The device enrollment token creation now includes more granular options. See Add and Manage Android Devices to learn more.
  • As Google continues to release new policy features, we have refined many of our policies to offer the latest available settings, including:
    • create a private space using the Work & Personal Usage policy;
    • allow/disallow printing capabilities through the Device Restrictions policy; and
    • additional network connectivity settings in our WiFi Restrictions policy.

Mobile

  • Lost Mode is now available for JumpCloud-managed company-owned iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices. See Enable Lost Mode on Devices to learn more.

Commands

  • We've updated the Commands > Results page to now display timestamps in your local time for easier interpretation. The new Display Timestamps in UTC checkbox allows switching back to UTC. 
  • Previously, timestamps were displayed in UTC which required manual conversion, causing confusion. 
  • Your time preference is saved across sessions until you change it.

  • You can now exclude user groups from receiving warn or block messages in their browser.

JumpCloud Password Manager Browser Extension

  • We have released a new feature called Autofill Rule. Users can map the required fields (such as username and password) manually. This will ensure that the password manager is consistent regardless of website variability. See JumpCloud Password Manager Browser Extension to learn more.

SaaS Management V2

  • This release adds Connectors, enabling API driven shadow IT detection without the adoption of the JumpCloud Go browser extension. Gain a significant increase in usage and security insights by using one or more Connectors.
    • Connector availability in this release includes Google Workspace, Entra ID, Slack, and many others. We will be adding many more connectors in the coming months.
    • For the most complete experience, utilize Connectors alongside browser extension tracking.
  • V2 also includes improvements like the ability to add SaaS apps manually and CSV export functionality for easier reporting.

JumpCloud Go Browser Extension v1.3.8
SaaS Management Enhancements

  • We released an update to the browser extension which improves app discovery for major platforms like Google, Microsoft, and Atlassian so that users who were logged in prior to the start of discovery will now be included in discovery.
  • We have enhanced SSO login tracking and upgraded our detection algorithm.
  • We have also expanded our app catalog to include Trello, Jira, OneDrive, and others.

Device Monitoring and Alerting

  • We’ve added a new Export button to the Alerts dashboard that admins can use to export alerts based on currently applied filters in either CSV or JSON format. The export will only include the columns currently visible on the screen.

Password Aging Settings

  • Password Aging Settings have been updated so that when they are initially set, or subsequently updated, a modal appears to inform you that the settings will apply at the next password change.
  •  You will also have the option to choose a custom date for expiring existing passwords for all users, after which the new settings will apply.

Device Monitoring and Alerting

  • We’ve added a new Existing Violations column to the Alerts dashboard to indicate if an alert is triggered by existing conditions, along with a corresponding filter, and a field by the same name in the alerts details page. 
  • This applies to all alerts generated by new or updated rules with Existing Conditions enabled after January 16th, 2025.
  • For alerts generated before 16th January, 2025, the value displayed in the Alerts dashboard and the alert details page may be inaccurate, potentially showing No despite having existing violations. The Existing Violations filter may also display inaccurate results.

Windows MDM CSP Policies V2

  • We have added the following new policies to the existing CSP (Configuration Service Provider) policy framework:
    • Application Restriction: Allows you to configure settings to control which applications are allowed or blocked from running on a specific device/group.
    • Custom MDM (OMA-URI): Allows you to configure MDM policies not included in pre-built templates using OMA-URIs, which provide precise control over specific device settings and functionalities.
    • Windows Time Service Configuration: Configure the NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers with which devices should synchronize.
    • Config Refresh: Allows you to Configure frequent evaluation of policy updates, ensuring devices remain in compliance with set configuration.
    • We have enhanced the existing bluetooth policy to include Bluetooth Allowed Services. This allows you to centrally control complete Bluetooth functionality, including all available services.

Android Enrollment

  • Our Android EMM solution now supports Authenticate Using Google. When this setting is enabled within the Google Workspace Admin Console, the user identity is linked to the device during enrollment, enabling the user to seamlessly access Google services. Password Manager Desktop App

  • We have fixed credential sync issues within shared folders. This is applicable only to the shared folders created after this update. If you still experience sync issues, please contact JumpCloud Support.
  • We have revised the onboarding email content to include the scenario where the Admin has already remotely installed the app to the user's device.
  • We have also provided minor bug fixes.
