Manage Command Templates in the MTP

Managed Service Provider (MSP) Admins can save valuable time and reduce errors when running custom commands on devices across many organizations by creating command templates. These can be accessed, and applied to any of your tenant organizations, instead of manually configuring commands for each one.

Creating Command Templates

To create command templates:

  1. Log in to your MTP: https://console.jumpcloud.com.
  2. Launch an Organization.
  3. Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > Commands.
  4. Click ( + ), then choose Command which allows you to manually create a new command. For help creating a new command manually, see Get Started: Commands.
  5. After your fields are filled out, click save and create template.
    • This option is only available to users with the MSP Admin with Billing role permissions.

Note:
  • You can filter the list of templates by clicking filter by and selecting Default Templates or Custom Templates.
  • JumpCloud manages the set of Default Templates available for use, whereas the Custom Templates are the ones you’ve created and saved.
  1. This saves a local copy of the command to the organization, while also storing it as a template that can be accessed and applied to any of your tenant organizations. Now when you go to create a command from a template, your new template will be saved as an option for you to choose from.
    • Uploaded files won’t be stored in templates.
