Configuring Static User Groups

JumpCloud groups are created as Static User Groups by default, meaning their membership must be managed and updated manually. Static user groups are best for situations when the membership is primarily unchanging, and the membership in the group cannot be formed using an easily-defined criteria.

Creating a New Static User Group

  1. Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal.
  2. Go to USER MANAGEMENT > User Groups.
  3. Click the (+) button to create a new group.

  6. Enter the Attribute Name and Attribute Value. You can add multiple custom attributes.

Note:

If you want the Admin Portal to be accessed only on Managed Chrome Browsers or profiles with users signed in their company account (google enrollment domain), you can also add a condition for better security and compliance. See Configure Google Chrome Enterprise Device Trust with JumpCloud to learn more.

  1. After entering all the details, click Save Group.
You have successfully created a new static user group.
