VaultOne's WebShield allows you to securely transfer files from your local computer (host machine) directly into a website access session. This is handy when you need to upload documents or other files to a website you're accessing through WebShield.
Ensure File Transfer is Enabled
Before you can transfer files, you need to make sure the feature is active for the website you're using.
- Log in to your VaultOne platform.
- Navigate to the Websites menu.
- Select the specific website asset you'll be accessing.
- Go to the Web Shield tab.
- Ensure that both the Disable File Transfer and Disable Clipboard options are unchecked. This confirms that file transfers and clipboard functions are allowed.
Upload Files to the WebShield Session
Once you've connected to a website through WebShield:
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Shift on your keyboard to open the Clipboard Area.
- This is your bridge between your host machine and the WebShield session
- In the Clipboard Area, navigate to the Downloads directory and click Upload Files.
- Select the file(s) you wish to transfer from your host machine.
- Once uploaded, the file will be available in the download location within your WebShield session's temporary environment.
Upload the File to the Website
Finally, you can now upload the file from the WebShield session's download location to the website itself.
- On the website you're accessing via WebShield, locate and click the File Upload option (this might be a button like "Choose File," "Browse," or "Upload").
- This will typically open a new file selection window within the WebShield session.
- Navigate to the Downloads directory within this window and locate your recently transferred file.
- Double-click the file, or select it and click Open to complete the upload to the website.
Note: There is a maximum file transfer size of 100MB through the connector. If you need to transfer larger files, please contact the VaultOne support team.
