If your organization operates in India or the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, you likely face two major hurdles: product latency and strict data storage rules.

High latency slows down your workforce and drains productivity. If a critical IT process (like one that controls how users log into something) delays, efficiency grinds to a halt… and users get frustrated fast. At the same time, navigating complex data residency regulations makes compliance a major headache. The recent Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act has made it clear where your data must live and how it should be secured.

You need a solution that performs at top speed while keeping your data local.

This is why JumpCloud is opening a new data center in the India region. This new data center helps you solve these challenges directly. It gives your team a fast, unified platform to manage users and devices, all while storing your primary data right where it belongs.

Aligning with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act

India has entered a critical phase of digital governance. The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act of 2023 establishes clear responsibilities for organizations that collect, process, and manage personal data belonging to individuals in India.

With specific rules now notified (late 2025) and a 2027 enforcement deadline approaching, 2026 is the decisive window for IT teams to finalize their infrastructure and data residency strategies.

The new JumpCloud India region enables organizations to host their complete identity and device management platform regionally—managing user authentication, device control, and access management all within India. This regional architecture provides audit, data control, and transparency capabilities as part of organizations’ compliance approach to DPDP.

While JumpCloud provides the infrastructure and regional hosting capabilities to support data residency strategies, organizations remain responsible for ensuring their specific implementation meets regulatory requirements.

Our Commitment to Data Security

We built the JumpCloud India region with data governance in mind, providing the tools and controls needed to meet evolving data protection requirements:

  • Data Control. You control exactly what identity data enters the platform. You also manage how long it stays based on your own company policies.
  • Security & Access Protection. We protect your data with enterprise-grade encryption and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Only authorized staff can access the system to support the platform.
  • Compliance & Transparency. Centralized audit tools give you complete oversight of devices and access changes. You can easily handle data requests regarding access and erasure.
  • Regional Data Hosting: You can keep your primary customer data in India. Our Data Processing Addendum (DPA) gives you clear visibility into how your data is processed.

You always maintain full access to your own data.

Better Performance

The physical distance between users and their data center directly affects performance. By expanding platform availability to the India region, we’ve significantly reduced latency for identity requests across India and the Asia-Pacific.

For your employees, this means authentication tasks like Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) happen faster. When you’re managing a distributed workforce that needs instant access to cloud resources, reducing latency makes a noticeable difference in daily productivity and user experience.

Operational Resilience

JumpCloud’s India region is built with multi-availability zone (multi-AZ) architecture to support business continuity and disaster recovery. This design ensures that identity services remain available even if a specific data center facility experiences a disruption, supported by backup, replication, and within-region failover strategies.

Beyond infrastructure resilience, our operational practices include strict access controls limiting access to authorized personnel only, as required to operate and support the platform.

Customers always maintain full access to their own data. For transparency into how we maintain global support and security, our Data Processing Addendum (DPA) provides details on any necessary processing outside the region.

A Global Platform for Modern Work

The launch of the India region reflects JumpCloud’s continued investments in building a globally available platform that maintains a consistent, unified experience across regions. Organizations in India and APAC have access to the complete suite of JumpCloud’s identity, access, and device management capabilities without compromise.

“India and Asia-Pacific are key to our growth,” said Diwakar Naramreddy, senior vice president, engineering, JumpCloud. “By opening this India region, we are helping our customers follow local data laws and empower India’s digital-first enterprises with tools that respect local sovereignty without sacrificing global scale.”

Availability and Participation

New customers in India and APAC can select the India region when they sign up. The India region serves organizations across Asia-Pacific, including Australia, Bangladesh, India, Japan, Singapore, and 30+ other countries in the region.

There is currently no additional cost associated with selecting the India region for new customers. Pricing models remain consistent with global JumpCloud offerings.
