Configure Vanta for the AI Gateway

To allow your users to securely query compliance data, monitor security controls, and analyze access reviews using their AI clients, you can configure the Vanta Model Context Protocol (MCP) server within the JumpCloud AI Gateway.

Prerequisites

  • Before configuring specific enterprise applications, we recommend reviewing the Get Started: AI Gateway guide to familiarize yourself with the gateway architecture and core AI concepts (such as MCP servers and AI clients).
  • An active Vanta account with administrative privileges.

Completing Application Setup

Vanta’s MCP server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (DCR), so no app creation or additional configuration is required to connect it to the AI Gateway. See Vanta’s documentation for Connecting to Vanta MCP to learn more.

Configuring the Server in JumpCloud

See Adding MCP Servers in Configure AI Gateway Integrations and use the following values to configure this server:

  • App: Select Vanta (if you have an existing SSO application or bookmark), or click + Add App to create it
  • Name: Enter a name, for example Vanta
  • Prefix: Enter a value to prepend to MCP tool names
    • Note: Prefixes must be unique. Maximum 8 characters, letters and numbers only
  • URL: Enter the Vanta remote MCP server URL depending on your region:
    • US: https://mcp.vanta.com/mcp
    • EU: https://mcp.eu.vanta.com/mcp
    • AUS: https://mcp.aus.vanta.com/mcp
  • MCP authentication method: OAuth
  • Advanced fields: Not required

Your users will now see Vanta listed as an available application when they authenticate their AI clients through the JumpCloud AI Gateway.
