VaultOne's Direct Access feature allows you to connect to machines outside of your web browser using methods like RDP and SSH.
If you're working from a macOS computer, you can use the native Microsoft Remote Desktop application (formerly "Windows App") to connect to VaultOne Windows devices instead of a web browser session.
Installing the VaultOne RDP Connector
First, you'll need to install the VaultOne RDP Connector on your macOS computer.
- Download the latest version of the application. Separate download links are provided for:
- Drag the downloaded VaultOne RDP Connector application file to your Applications folder.
- On your Mac, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and enable the VaultOne RDP Connector.
If you encounter an error indicating an outdated version of the VaultOne RDP Connector, you'll need to update it. Follow these same installation steps to reinstall it.
Installing the Microsoft Remote Desktop Application
Next, install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app on your macOS device.
- From the App Store on your macOS device, install the Microsoft Remote Desktop application (formerly known as "Windows App"). This application is required for establishing the RDP connection.
Disabling Video Recording
To connect to Windows devices via the VaultOne RDP Connector, you must disable the video recording option for the device in VaultOne.
- Log in to the VaultOne platform.
- In the main menu, click Servers.
- Select the resource or computer you want to access and click Actions > Edit.
- In the General tab, scroll down to Record Video and disable the option.
- Click Save.
Connecting via Direct Access
