People of JumpCloud | Jordan Berry

People are the lifeblood of any organization, but so rarely do they receive the spotlight like the innovative applications and services, company missions, and devoted customer communities they work so hard to create. We want to change that.

At JumpCloud every individual makes a difference, and their work matters no matter what function they hold. This ongoing series aims to showcase the personalities and contributions of every JumpCloudian and share the spotlight with the people who work hard every day to help Make Work HappenTM.

Jordan Berry (She/Her)
Account Executive
Denver, CO

We recently caught up with Jordan Berry about what it’s like to work as an Account Executive at JumpCloud.

When did you start working at JumpCloud? December 2020.

Can you run us through a day in the life of your role at JumpCloud? A typical day as an Account Executive at JumpCloud is dynamic and engaging. I start my day by reaching out to new prospects who have signed up for a trial of our platform. This involves understanding their needs, explaining our solutions, and scheduling calls to support their evaluation process. Throughout the day, I schedule calls with prospects to discuss the technical aspects of JumpCloud and how it fits into their current environment. These discussions often involve coordinating with our sales engineers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of our product’s capabilities. Additionally, I participate in weekly training and coaching sessions with our sales enablement teams, sales engineer teams, and product teams. This helps me stay updated on new features, best practices, and market trends. During prospect calls, I address questions about the platform and guide prospects towards solutions that simplify their IT operations. Negotiation is also a key aspect of my role, as I work to find mutually beneficial agreements with our customers. Overall, my role allows me to interact with a diverse range of clients, address their needs, and contribute to the growth of JumpCloud.

How have you grown as an individual since starting at the company? Since joining JumpCloud, I’ve experienced significant personal and professional growth. Professionally, I’ve expanded my technical knowledge and expertise in cloud security and identity management, which has enabled me to better serve our clients and contribute to the success of our team. On a personal level, I’ve become more self-aware and confident in my abilities, thanks to the supportive and collaborative culture at JumpCloud. I’ve also learned the importance of resilience and adaptability in navigating challenges and seizing opportunities for growth.

Pick a JumpCloud value (Build Connections, Think Big, 1% Better Every Day) and share an example of how you lived that value recently. As an Account Executive at JumpCloud, I actively embrace the value of ‘Build Connections.’ Internally, I collaborate across teams to drive alignment and leverage expertise. Externally, I prioritize genuine relationships with clients, leading to repeat business and referrals. Recently, a strong client connection resulted in a referral to their new company, showcasing the value of building lasting partnerships that drive mutual success.

What is something that you have accomplished at JumpCloud that you are proud of? One accomplishment I’m particularly proud of at JumpCloud is excelling in a recent demo contest. It was a great opportunity to showcase our platform’s value and highlight my ability to effectively communicate its benefits to potential clients. It was a rewarding experience that reinforced my dedication to delivering impactful presentations that resonate with our audience.

What keeps you energized about working at JumpCloud? I find that what keeps me energized about working at JumpCloud is the constant stream of new feature releases. It’s truly invigorating to see our platform evolve and improve, and I always look forward to exploring these new features firsthand. Not only does it keep me engaged and excited about our product, but it also gives me the opportunity to reconnect with previous prospects who have been eagerly awaiting these enhancements. It’s a win-win scenario that fuels my enthusiasm for what we do here.

What do you like to do on your days off? I love to embrace the outdoors as much as possible. During the winter months, you’ll often find me hitting the slopes for some skiing adventures. However, when summer arrives, that’s when the real excitement begins! I’m an avid fan of biking, paddle boarding, and hiking, anything on the water—basically anything that lets me soak up the sunshine and explore nature’s beauty. I also have a passion for traveling and discovering new places, whether it’s a hidden gem nearby or a distant destination. Overall, I thrive on being active and immersing myself in the great outdoors whenever I have the chance.

What advice do you have for prospective JumpCloud candidates? I would recommend diving into our video tutorials to gain a deeper understanding of our platform and its capabilities. Additionally, take some time to reflect on how you embody our core values—whether it’s building connections, thinking big, or striving for continuous improvement. Demonstrating alignment with JumpCloud’s values during the interview process can truly set you apart and showcase your potential to thrive within our dynamic team.

What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it? I recently read ‘The Four Agreements’ and would highly recommend it. The book offers valuable insights into living a more fulfilling and authentic life by following four simple yet powerful principles: being impeccable with your word, not taking anything personally, avoiding assumptions, and always doing your best. It serves as a wonderful reminder of these core values and provides a refreshing perspective on personal growth and mindfulness. Plus, its concise format makes it easy to revisit for a quick dose of inspiration whenever needed. It’s definitely worth a read.

If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? My mother’s lasagna!

Do you have any pets as in-house colleagues? Yes, I have a furry coworker named Tucker, a long-haired dachshund. He occasionally makes surprise appearances during my video calls, adding some extra charm to the virtual meetings!
