It signifies mastery in handling more in-depth implementations and deployments. It also helps IT professionals who administer JumpCloud’s open directory platform to be more effective in their roles and benefits their organizations through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Twenty-eight IT admins have successfully passed the Advanced certification since it was introduced, and have added it to their list of credentials to demonstrate ongoing career and professional development. IT certifications showcase a commitment to learning and improving skills and can be a catalyst for accelerating growth and building a stronger career path.

Here’s what our customers have to say about JumpCloud’s Core and Advanced certifications:

Advanced Certification: I liked that not only were there plenty of questions, not in the practice exam, but also that there were more options added — definitely going to separate the wheat from the chaff!

Chris Notley, CEO, Prelim

Core Certification hits all of the “must haves/knows,” and Advanced Certification takes it to the next level! Being certified has helped me polish and reinforce not only my JumpCloud toolbox and knowledge, but also provides the maximum ROI to our company.

Ricky Jordan, Senior Technology Manager, Primitive Skateboarding

Why Get JumpCloud Certified?

There are multiple benefits to becoming JumpCloud certified that may not be outwardly obvious to every IT professional. The JumpCloud Core and Advanced certification curriculum (which is free with a nominal fee assessed to take the exam) provides not just insight into implementing and managing your JumpCloud organization, but also key IT-related areas of expertise, such as:

  • Leveraging API calls via a third-party RESTful API tool like Postman
  • Understanding both the fundamentals and more complex implementations of RADIUS, LDAP, and SSO applications, using web standards like OIDC and SAML
  • Understanding the nuances of zero-touch, and managing mobile devices via Apple Business Manager, MDM for Windows and macOS, iOS, iPad devices, and EMM for Android devices
  • Recognizing integration of third-party systems with HRIS platforms, such as: BambooHR, Bob, Deel, Factorial, Namely, Paylocity, Personio, Workday, ADP, and many others
  • Implementing an AWS serverless application in conjunction with JumpCloud’s Directory Insights tool that automatically provisions all of the resources required to export JumpCloud Directory Insights data to a AWS S3 bucket for longer data retention periods
  • Learning how to integrate JumpCloud with other identity providers (IdPs) like Azure Active Directory (now known as Entra ID) or Okta; or make JumpCloud work even better together by using it alongside Google Workspace
  • Learning about and utilizing a SIEM (security information and event management) tool in conjunction with JumpCloud to provide immense benefits for security and compliance within your IT department
