At JumpCloud, innovation is driven by a commitment to excellence and a deep alignment with our customers’ evolving needs. To build the future of identity and access management, we took your feedback to heart: we moved beyond patching legacy frameworks to engineer a truly unified, enterprise-grade credential management solution.
Built on a centralized architecture, the all-new JumpCloud Password Vault unifies the user and administrative experience directly within the JumpCloud Admin and User Portals. By consolidating identity, credential, and endpoint access into a single platform, Password Vault effectively reduces tool sprawl and lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO).
What Changes for Your Users?
As part of this evolution, Password Vault replaces our legacy decentralized password manager desktop application, extension, and mobile application. To ensure a frictionless transition, we have integrated these capabilities directly into your existing JumpCloud ecosystem:
- JumpCloud Admin/User Console: Administrators and users can access the Password Vault directly from their respective portals.
- JumpCloud Go Extension: Fully replaces the legacy browser extension. It unifies JumpCloud Go authentication, SSO, SaaS management, and now Password Vault autofill for non-SSO applications.
- JumpCloud Protect Mobile App: Previously used strictly as an MFA authenticator, the Protect app now allows users to securely access their Password Vault credentials.
- Flexible Sharing Options: Seamlessly share individual or grouped websites and credentials with fine-grained permission controls.
Seamless Migration: Upgrade to the New Password Vault Now
Your legacy password manager and the new Password Vault runs side by side during the transition with zero downtime for users.
- Turn on cloud backup for the legacy password manager.
- Enable Password Vault.
- Upload your cloud backup private key.
- Migration runs in the background.
You can migrate by specific user group(s) followed by the entire organization, and then retire the legacy tool when ready.
