VaultOne: Transfer Files Between Local Machines and Windows Servers

VaultOne makes it easy to transfer files between your local machine and a Windows Server during an RDP session. You can send files to a server or download them back to your computer.

Transferring Files from Your Local Machine to a Windows Server

There are two methods for sending files from your local machine to a remote Windows Server session:

Using Drag-and-Drop

The fastest way to transfer a file is to drag it directly from your machine and drop it into the remote session area within your web browser. The file will then be automatically saved on the Windows Server in the following location: Windows Explorer > VaultOne Filesystem on VaultOne RDP > Downloads.

Using the Keyboard Shortcut

You can also use a keyboard shortcut to manage file transfers:

  1. During your session, press Shift + Ctrl + Alt on your keyboard.
  2. A screen with a Device Shared Drive option will appear.
  3. Click Upload Files and select the file you want to transfer from your local machine.
  4. The file will be uploaded and placed in the same default download location on the server: Windows Explorer > VaultOne Filesystem on VaultOne RDP > Downloads.

Transferring Files from a Windows Server to Your Local Machine

When you need to download a file from the Windows Server to your local machine, you also have two methods:

Using the Downloads Folder

  1. On the remote Windows Server, copy the desired file you want to download.
  2. Paste it into the Downloads folder located within the VaultOne Filesystem in VaultOne RDP.
  3. Your browser will automatically detect the file and initiate a download, making it available on your local machine.

Using the Keyboard Shortcut

You can use the same keyboard shortcut to download files as well:

  1. Press Shift + Ctrl + Alt.
  2. Click on Shared Drive.
  3. A list of files on the server will appear. Double-click the file you wish to download.
  4. A window will pop up, allowing you to choose where to save the file on your local machine.
