VaultOne: Hide Elements During Website Access

This guide explains how to hide specific fields or buttons on a website's login screen when it's accessed through VaultOne. This is a useful security feature for preventing users from seeing sensitive information, such as a password, during the login process.

Inspecting the Element to Hide

Find the unique CSS selector for the field or button you want to hide.

  1. Access the website outside of VaultOne.
  2. Right-click on the element you wish to hide (e.g., the eye icon in a password field).
  3. Select Inspect from the context menu. This will open the developer console.
  4. In the developer console, locate the code for the element you just inspected.
  5. Right-click on the code and find the option to Copy the selector.

Configuring the Hiding Rule

You have two options for applying the hiding rule in VaultOne:

To edit the website asset

  1. Go to the Websites menu in VaultOne.
  2. Find the relevant website and click on Actions > Edit.
  3. In the Extension tab, locate the Selector for fields to hide field.
  4. Paste the selector you copied in the previous section into this field.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

To configure during connection

  1. Go to the website asset and click on Actions > Connect.
  2. In the pre-connection window that appears, click on Advanced configurations.
  3. Locate the selector to hide field.
  4. Paste the selector you copied in previous into this field.
  5. Click Save to apply the rule for this connection.

Once these steps are completed, the specified field or button will no longer be visible when the website is accessed through VaultOne, helping to prevent the exposure of sensitive information.
