VaultOne: Access Databases

VaultOne's Database functionality allows you to easily register and securely access your databases. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up and connecting to your databases, including an optional feature for video recording sessions.

Creating a New Database Entry

  1. Log in to your VaultOne platform and navigate to the Database Menu.
  2. Click on Add Database.
  3. Complete the required fields for your database.
  4. Associate a credential with this database.
  5. Use the Sharing Menu to define which users or user groups will have access to this database.
  6. Click Save.

Note:

In some scenarios, you might need to customize the destination database connection string.

Accessing the Database

  1. Hover your mouse over the desired database name in the Database Menu.
  2. Click the Connect button.
  3. On the subsequent page, if multiple databases are available, double-click the specific database you wish to access.
  4. Once connected, your database is ready for use.
  5. To execute new queries, click the SQL button located in the top left corner of the interface.

    Enabling Video Recording for Database Sessions

    For enhanced auditing, you can enable video recording for database access sessions.

    1. Within the database configuration, enable the DB Shield option.
    2. A new DB Shield tab will appear. Click on it.
    3. From this tab, you can enable video recording and configure other settings, such as disabling file transfer, if desired.
