Travelier Unifies Identity and Device Management Across 7 Brands with JumpCloud

Travelier is the largest group of ground and sea transportation, including buses, trains, and ferries. The flagship brands of the group are 12Go and Plataforma 10. 12Go is the leading multimodal travel booking platform across Asia and beyond, connecting travelers with nearly 7,000 transport operators across 135 countries and serving more than 4.8 million bookings a year. Plataforma 10 is the preferred ground transportation company in Argentina, Paraguay, and Brasil, featuring over 500 bus operators across 20,000 destinations.

The company has approximately 500 employees working from offices in Israel, Argentina, Thailand, and Croatia, alongside a distributed remote workforce. Travelier has grown significantly through acquisitions, bringing multiple brands, entities, and technology environments under one organization.

That acquisition-led growth created an increasingly complex environment for Travelier’s small central IT team. The team needed a way to manage identities and devices across historically independent businesses while operating as one organization.

The Challenge: Fragmented Identity and Device Management

As Travelier grew through acquisitions, each brand brought its own IT environment and operational conventions. Identity was managed separately through Google Workspace admin consoles. There was no centralized identity provider or single place for IT to understand and manage access across the group.

Identity was managed entirely through the Google Workspace admin console, separately for each brand. There was no identity provider. There was no single place to answer the question, ‘Who has access to what?’ We had seven admin consoles, seven sets of conventions, and seven people-shaped processes before JumpCloud.

Device management was similarly fragmented. MDM covered only part of the organization, while devices elsewhere were unmanaged and configured manually. As the acquired businesses came together, maintaining separate identity and device management processes across the brands became increasingly difficult.

The fragmentation created several practical challenges.

  • Slow Employee Onboarding: Because the IT team manually provisioned accounts across brand environments, new employees often waited three to five days before receiving the access they needed to do their jobs. For a company of roughly 500 employees, those delays meant lost time and a slower start for new hires.
  • Manual and Risk-Prone Offboarding: Without centralized lifecycle management, removing access required IT to work through multiple environments manually and trust that nothing had been missed. Travelier lacked a single point for access enforcement and revocation across the organization.
  • Limited Device Visibility: Fragmented device management also made it difficult for IT to answer basic questions about device compliance consistently across the fleet.
  • Difficulty Enforcing Internal Security Policies: While external compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 does not drive Travelier’s operations, the fragmented environment made it difficult for the company to demonstrate consistent enforcement of its own internal security policies across brands.
  • A Growing Burden on a Small IT Team: Travelier’s central IT team supports approximately 500 employees across four time zones, with regional support in Thailand and Buenos Aires. Manual, per-brand provisioning consumed time that the team could otherwise spend on strategic work.

Travelier runs central IT with a very small team supporting roughly 500 people across four time zones. Manual, per-brand provisioning does not scale at that ratio. Every hour spent creating accounts by hand was an hour not spent on anything strategic.

Travelier needed a centralized approach to identity and device management that could support its multi-brand structure and distributed workforce.

The Solution: Centralizing Identity and Device Management with JumpCloud

Travelier partnered with Merit Security to deploy the JumpCloud Directory Platform, creating a centralized foundation for identity, access, and device management.

The implementation focused on three areas.

1. Centralizing Identity and User Lifecycle Management

Travelier consolidated identity management onto JumpCloud, creating a single directory and a central place to grant and revoke access across the group.

The company uses SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). SSO currently covers the majority of Travelier’s brand domains, with the remaining domains progressing toward full coverage. Centralized lifecycle management gives IT one place to provision users and one place to revoke access.

The impact was immediate. The IT team reduced employee onboarding time from three to five days to same-day provisioning.

Offboarding went from a manual multi-tenant checklist to a single action. During a company-wide restructuring, that was not a convenience; it was a control we could not have managed without.

Travelier also implemented JumpCloud Go. As Boris notes, the feature reduces login friction while strengthening the trust model. It further helps employees easily adopt secure access paths across the distributed organization.

2. Centralizing Device Management Across macOS and Windows

Travelier uses JumpCloud MDM, Zero-Touch Provisioning, Patch Management, and Remote Assist across its mixed macOS and Windows environment.

Zero-Touch Provisioning has been particularly valuable for Travelier’s distributed workforce. The IT team can now ship devices directly to employees in locations such as Thailand or Argentina. The employees there can automatically configure to policy on first boot, reducing the need for hands-on setup in each region.

Patch Management has given Travelier greater patch consistency across macOS and Windows. Remote Assist enables the central IT team to support employees across four time zones without relying on local intervention.

For the IT team, centralized device management has also changed how it approaches fleet visibility.

JumpCloud’s MDM overall replaced ‘ask someone’ with a dashboard. Device compliance is now a query, not an investigation.

3. Partner-Led Deployment with Merit Security

Merit Security supported Travelier through hands-on configuration sessions, including the JumpCloud SSO integration with Google Workspace. Rather than relying on a single large-scale cutover, Merit adapted the deployment to Travelier’s multi-brand structure and rolled SSO out progressively across brand domains.

This collaborative approach also helped Travelier’s IT team build its own knowledge of the platform. Since deployment, Merit has continued to provide proactive technical support. It acts as a first line when issues need to be escalated to JumpCloud.

Results: Scalable Identity and Device Management

By centralizing identity and device management with JumpCloud, Travelier has moved away from fragmented, brand-specific processes. They now have an operating model that a small IT team can manage across locations and businesses.

  • Onboarding Reduced from 3–5 Days to Same Day: New employees now receive their necessary accounts on the same day they start, eliminating the three-to-five-day wait they experienced before JumpCloud.
  • More Reliable Offboarding: The IT team now manages provisioning and revocation from a single dashboard rather than manually working through separate environments. This has made offboarding easier to execute consistently, particularly during organizational changes.
  • Centralized macOS and Windows Device Management: JumpCloud provides centralized management across Travelier’s mixed macOS and Windows fleet, with Zero-Touch Provisioning, Patch Management, MDM, and Remote Assist helping the IT team manage devices across locations.
  • Zero Reported Security Incidents Since Deployment: Since deploying JumpCloud, Travelier reports zero security incidents, establishing a strong post-deployment security baseline.
  • Supporting 500 Employees with a Small Central IT Team: The broader impact is operational scalability. Travelier’s small central IT team can manage identity and device operations for a roughly 500-person organization across multiple brands, countries, and time zones.

JumpCloud is the platform that made a seven-brand, four-country company operate as a single organization from an IT perspective. If I were to restart, I would make the same decision again.

What’s next for Travelier

Travelier plans to continue building on its centralized identity and device management foundation. With Conditional Access on the roadmap, the company also plans to explore SaaS Management to gain greater visibility into application usage across its multi-brand environment.

For other acquisition-heavy or multi-brand organizations, Boris recommends beginning with a clear understanding of where identity should originate and how it will be managed.

Map your identity sources before you buy anything. If you are acquisition-heavy or multi-brand, the hard work is not the platform, it is deciding what your authoritative source of identity is going to be. JumpCloud will consolidate what you point it at, and it does that extremely well, but it will not make that decision for you.

—Boris Shuv, IT Manager, Travelier Group

He also points to the value of working with a partner that understands the organization’s environment. For Travelier, having Merit engineers configure the platform alongside the internal team helped build the knowledge needed to manage JumpCloud independently after deployment.

As Travelier evaluates the next stage of its JumpCloud environment, the objective remains the same: maintain a unified foundation that allows a small central IT team to support a growing, distributed organization without recreating the silos that came with acquisition-led growth.
