JumpCloud® Directory-as-a-Service® provides IT professionals with a single platform to secure and empower their workforces. Beyond that, JumpCloud is a company that values its employees and the connections they make with one another.

Even now, while the JumpCloud team works remotely, we strive to provide a place to come together and build an impactful service for our customers. We’ve compiled stories from JumpCloudians across our four global locations to share what makes working at JumpCloud so special.

“JumpCloud is a unique place,” CEO Rajat Bhargava said. “We compete against some of the largest tech companies in the world to solve some very big problems. The people solving these problems are incredibly smart, and have built a cloud directory platform that is the digital backbone for our customers.

“JumpCloud is by no means perfect, but that’s also part of what motivates our team — to make a positive impact on an organization, on customers, and on each other.”

Aaron Wilmot, JumpCloud’s vice president of People, said he’s found that JumpCloudians are always willing to help one another, and they’re passionate about solving real problems for real people.

“When I started at JumpCloud I sat down with every team member who was hired before me and asked them how they describe working at JumpCloud to non-JumpCloudians” Wilmot said. “It came down to three core tenets that I think are the foundation of our culture: great colleagues, transparency, and passion.”

JumpCloud Values

JumpCloud has three stated values, which a team of more than two dozen people came together to craft with input from across the company. Our values are:

  • Build Connections
  • Think Big
  • 1% Better Every Day

Build Connections

At JumpCloud, we seek to help organizations connect their users to their necessary IT resources — and we build connections with one another. New employees each write “user manuals,” which peers can read to learn more about their hobbies and quirks, the qualities they value in others, and the ways they like to communicate.

We also take breaks to have fun and form friendships. Whether we share a beer and snacks, take to the river on Tube to Work Day, join daily plank sessions, or fawn over one another’s dogs, cats, turtles, etc. in our #PawsitiveVibes Slack channel, JumpCloudians are eager to connect with each other. Even now that we’ve moved to a remote-work model, we still join plank and meditation sessions virtually.

“JumpCloud’s culture is special in that people are here to work, and at the same time, a lot of great friendships are made,” said Ashley Lester, Customer Success Management leader. “I have a few work buddies that I can crack jokes with, and that makes the stressful and more challenging moments that much easier to get through.”

Tyler Koltes, Sales Enablement Manager, said there’s a mutual respect among employees, which leads to open and honest communication and a community of trust.

“When I started at JumpCloud five years ago there were fewer than 20 people united by the (then crazy) idea of building a fully cloud directory service,” Koltes said. “I believe a large portion of JumpCloud’s success can be directly attributed to the culture that we have maintained through every level of growth.”

Added Engineer Kyle Randolph: “JumpCloud has an amazingly welcoming and open culture. We are constantly chasing and creating bleeding edge technologies while helping ensure personal growth for employees, which leads to working with some incredibly talented folks.”

Think Big

At JumpCloud, we reimagine directory services for the cloud era and are disrupting a multi-billion dollar market. This takes big ideas.

Josie Judy, PR and Social Media Manager, said JumpCloudians are career-driven, passionate, and success-oriented — and they value outside-the-box thinking. Software Engineering Manager Sam Luedke added that JumpCloud has a uniquely fast-paced environment.

“I would describe JumpCloud’s culture as GO GO GO!” Luedke said. “From the CEO all the way down, everyone is focused on getting work done and delivering for customers. Everyone here is a hard worker.”

Product Marketing Manager Leia Schultz said JumpCloudians move fast in service of big ideas, and they do so as a team.

“We tackle ambitious goals and move fast as we pioneer a totally new cloud directory platform,” Schultz said. “But we have fun doing it, and every person — across the company and at every level — is always happy to give their time answering a question or brainstorming a project. Our culture is the best combo of hard working and kind pros who really know their stuff and bring a positive attitude to the office (whether that’s in an actual office or working remotely!). JumpCloud values authenticity, big ideas, and a teamwork-makes-the-dream-work mentality.”

1% Better Every Day

We also seek to improve each day — in the services we deliver to customers and in the ways we solve problems together. HR Generalist Sam Geneva said she’d describe the JumpCloudian approach to problem solving as collaborative.

“At JumpCloud, we lean on one another for expertise, and we stay deft and adaptable in order to embrace challenges,” she said.

Sales Manager John Milne said employees can propose new ideas and be heard, which offers opportunities for people to help shape and grow with the company.

“As a fast-growing company with an emphasis on culture, JumpCloud offers the opportunity to grow your career rapidly while maintaining a healthy work-life balance,” he said. “Through continued effort, we get better every day, and that mantra is truly shared across the company.”

Sales Account Executive Matt Halberg said that he’s been able to grow with the company and learn from his peers.

“We have so many smart, hard working, and dedicated people on the JumpCloud team, all of whom are willing to take 30 minutes out of their day to help a coworker better themselves,” Halberg said. “Leadership has always been transparent and I believe they truly want to build more than just a great company, they want to help individuals grow into better people.”
