Set Up and Connect 2FA with JumpCloud Password Manager

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) boosts account security by requiring an additional authentication method. JumpCloud Password Manager simplifies setting up and linking 2FA to your stored passwords.

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure you have the JumpCloud Password Manager app installed and configured.
  • Access to the account for which you want to set up 2FA.

To add a 2FA entry:

  1. Open the JumpCloud Password Manager app.
  2. Click Add Item and then select 2FA from the dropdown.
  3. Enter the Service Name and any relevant labels or notes for identification.
  4. Enter the 2FA Secret by copying and pasting it here.
    • Copy the 2FA Secret: The service may provide a text-based 2FA secret, that you can directly copy and paste it here.
    • Scan the QR Code: If you are using the JumpCloud Password Manager mobile app, scan the QR code provided by the service.

Tip:

Ensure the 2FA code is successfully saved and synced across your devices.

  1. (Optional)If you want to link the 2FA to an existing password, click Link To An Existing Password.
    • Select the corresponding password entry from the list.
    • Click Link 2FA.
  2. Click Create.
