Sinfopac Internacional is an IT consultancy and managed service provider (MSP) headquartered in Barcelona that provides digital transformation, cybersecurity, and auditing and data analysis services to clients across Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. Founded in 1989, the organization originally serviced clients in Spain before expanding in Europe and overseas in 2010. Sinfopac — a JumpCloud partner — typically works with large companies powered by distributed teams across the accounting, law, fintech, and insurtech sectors.
Modernizing their approach to remote IT asset management
When Sinfopac began developing a presence in Latin America, operations manager Gastón Thano was part of the team tasked with setting up operations in the new market. During this time, employees would travel around the continent, visiting clients and working out of their offices.
“I started looking for a way to modernize that way of working,” Thano explains. “My priority was to look for something in the cloud that allows us to increase the security of our devices, and that’s how I found JumpCloud.”
Becoming the first JumpCloud partner in Latin America
While Sinfopac implemented JumpCloud to get better control over its own IT assets, the company quickly began recommending that its customers use the product, too.
In all of my meetings with potential clients — all of my feedback and everything I share in those meetings — I do it first from a position of a user rather than a seller of the solution. I often tell anecdotes of challenges we encountered and how, thanks to JumpCloud, we faced them with ease.

As an MSP, Thano and his team have mastered all the features and functionality found in JumpCloud — something critical for them to be able to deliver the caliber of consulting and support their clients have grown to expect. Due to this depth of understanding of the platform, Sinfopac decided to deepen its relationship with JumpCloud.
“We can say with great pride that we are the first partners in Latin America for JumpCloud,” Thano continues. “I really think that there isn’t a product on the market that offers everything that JumpCloud offers in one place.”
Transforming into a tool Sinfopac & its clients can’t live without
JumpCloud has made life considerably easier for Sinfopac’s team, especially when it comes to managing remote machines.
“When you’re doing a deployment of an operating system update remotely, you don’t even have to worry because you just create a policy and JumpCloud does all the work,” Thano says. “I think that’s what stands out most in our day-to-day lives.”
Most commonly, clients turn to Sinfopac looking for a solution to control all of the devices they manage from a single interface.
“I just say that’s something that JumpCloud helps us solve in a very effective way,” he says. “Sometimes, the client is surprised when I show them the platform. For example, being able to remotely control devices is not expected. It’s a pleasant surprise. You don’t need to remotely connect to a machine as was traditionally done. Although the functionality is still there, it’s no longer necessary.”
The way Thano sees it, JumpCloud is so feature-rich that “it’s sometimes hard to believe.”
Compliance made easy
As an MSP that works with businesses in heavily regulated industries, Sinfopac’s operations require tight security and compliance controls.
“We were recently working with a client that was pursuing ISO 27001 certification, and the first thing they noticed in an audit was that their machines weren’t automatically locking after a period of inactivity,” Thano explains. “As simple as it sounds, this is all part of compliance and the levels of security an operation needs to have.”
With JumpCloud, rolling out a fix to this problem was a cinch; the team simply created a lock screen policy and pushed it out to all machines.
In order to achieve ISO 27001 compliance, systems need to be supported by a tool like JumpCloud.

Ease of integration
When a client approaches Sinfopac, one of the first questions the team asks is where their main source of truth for user identities is.
“Usually it’s Google Workspace or Microsoft 365; some have Active Directory either in the cloud or on their own servers,” Thano says, adding that JumpCloud seamlessly connects to all of these services. “That’s the first thing we do: integrate JumpCloud with the current directory, and then get to the next level from there. That other level is provisioning the technology resources and delivering them through JumpCloud, starting with devices and tools.”
Mobile device management
Typically, Sinfopac works with companies that have between 300 and 1,000 users. When these clients come on board, they’re usually eager to get more control of their devices by implementing a mobile device management solution.
In these instances, it’s not uncommon for a client to say that they only use Windows machines when, upon investigation, it becomes apparent that there are also iPhones and Macs in the mix, for example.
“It’s a complex issue to manage if you don’t have the appropriate tool,” Thano says. Because it enables admins to control every device, regardless of operating system, from a single pane of glass, “JumpCloud is great for the MDM use case — actually organizing the entire fleet of equipment to implement a BYOD policy.”
Enhanced security
Using JumpCloud enables Sinfopac to deliver several powerful security features that keep client systems safe.
“By default, we suggest that single sign-on should be connected to the productivity tool each user opens to start their day; with JumpCloud, that can be done very easily in a secure way,” Thano says. “If clients require a VPN, that’s where the RADIUS module comes into play.”
Sinfopac also encourages clients to use multi-factor authentication and conditional access policies to further strengthen their environments.
“A client wanted users to only be able to login to Google on machines it provided; they wanted to limit the use of certain tools from machines they didn’t control, so we used policies to enable that,” Thano says. “Things that until now companies did not have or even imagine — with JumpCloud, it’s possible.”
Sinfopac’s clients also use policies to ensure hard drives are protected and patch management to ensure operating systems and applications are always up to date.
“JumpCloud guarantees that a policy you decide to implement will be available everywhere,” Thano says, adding that some clients are also using Password Manager to further improve their security posture.
Real-time monitoring & rapid response
Using Directory Insights and System Insights, Thano and his team can keep their proverbial fingers on the pulse of day-to-day IT operations. Whenever an anomaly materializes, the team can mitigate it quickly thanks to JumpCloud.
We have everything in one place and can see what’s happening, which machines are logged in, the machines that are turned on, which user logged into what network and when — it makes life so much easier for the IT department. Once JumpCloud takes control of the device, the reporting level is very enriching.

Improved onboarding
JumpCloud has also helped Sinfopac improve the onboarding experience for new hires, giving each of them a great first impression.
“It’s a very positive experience on the end-user side and on the IT team side,” Thano explains. “Everything is done in half the time — at least.”
As an example, someone in Brazil recently received a machine, was waiting for someone to remotely install the tools he needed, and was pleasantly surprised by the “silent installation” JumpCloud enables.
“His day was never interrupted,” Thano says. “She was expecting the traditional remote connection.”
Any advice for other IT practitioners considering a solution like JumpCloud?
“JumpCloud shouldn’t be seen as just one more product in your portfolio,” Thano concludes. “JumpCloud is a totally necessary product, and the future of where the product is going is very, very exciting.”
