Going Global: JumpCloud® Opens Office in San José, Costa Rica

BOULDER, Colo. – Nov. 21, 2019 – JumpCloud® today announced its global expansion into Costa Rica. This comes as the company is experiencing extreme growth in all aspects of the business including raising additional funding from General Atlantic, expanding the leadership team, and hiring 200+ new employees in Colorado.

With more than half of the company’s revenue being derived overseas, it’s increasingly important for JumpCloud to continue its global expansion. Not only is JumpCloud selling and servicing customers outside of the U.S. market at scale, JumpCloud is now also tapping into the global market for talent.

The new office is located in San José, the capital city of Costa Rica. Costa Rica’s technical talent pool has dramatically deepened over the last few years and the location is ideal for JumpCloud to extend its engineering, customer success, and implementation teams. With excellent universities and a strong work ethic, Costa Rica is an ideal location for JumpCloud to expand its team in addition to the significant local expansion in Boulder and Denver, Colorado.

Recently, a handful of members from JumpCloud’s engineering, customer success, and training teams traveled to San José to onboard the newest members of the Costa Rican team.

Jim Burglin, senior director of customer support at JumpCloud, led the effort to onboard the team. “San José is turning into a technology hub for Latin America, which is very clear by the team’s level of expertise; they’re an extremely knowledgeable group of people,” said Burglin. “The team couldn’t have been more welcoming to us, and were equally as excited to support the JumpCloud mission. They spoke often about the huge opportunity they see ahead of us.”

“Our engineering team in Costa Rica has been instrumental in building a world-class product,” said Dave Barr, vice president of engineering at JumpCloud. “We are thrilled with the level of talent, commitment, and creativity that our team brings. Our intention is to continue to expand our product teams in Latin America at a rapid clip. We have a tremendous amount of work on our plate and couldn’t be more appreciative to our Costa Rican and Colorado-based engineering teams.”

With a global customer footprint, JumpCloud is focused on building a presence in technology communities around the world to tap into the global marketplace for talent and to better serve its customers. For companies that need to connect their worldwide workforces, as JumpCloud does with its Costa Rica office, JumpCloud’s cloud directory platform enables IT administrators to manage and secure their employees and resources.

“We are truly excited about our continued expansion of talent across the world to better serve our customers. Our global team is helping us achieve our vision while creating fulfilling careers for themselves,” said Aaron Wilmot, vice president of people at JumpCloud. “With that excitement also comes challenges. Our focus during this expansion is to be sure everyone knows that we are all one, and that the core tenants of our culture are known and brought to life by team members regardless of location.”
