I’m proud to announce that the second edition of The Startup Playbook, a book that I wrote with JumpCloud board member and colleague Will Herman, is launching today! Wiley, our publisher, is offering a 30% discount on the book on their site, in case you would like to grab a copy (discount code SPLB2). You can, of course, also get a copy at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indie Bound, or BAM.
Will and I have worked together for over 25 years and this book is a compilation of much of what we have learned starting, building, and running businesses. The first edition launched a little over a year ago and we sold out of that first printing. Our friends at Techstars and Wiley approached us about doing a second edition to help fellow entrepreneurs in the community.
We wanted to make the second edition even more personal and easier to consume. We significantly expanded the number of chapters in the book and included more stories from our past experiences with the aim to help founders not make the same mistakes we did (and trust us, we’ve made a lot of them!). Brad Feld, a close friend and colleague to Will and me, wrote the foreword to the book.
A core of the JumpCloud ethos has been to help other companies – especially those that are growing their organizations. We provide a free JumpCloud account to anybody that wants it. We recently launched JumpCloud University that aims to make training and knowledge of identity management free. The Startup Playbook is just an extension of that philosophy. I hope that the book helps some of our over 100,000 organizations.
You can learn more about the book in a post from my co-author, Will Herman, on our book site. If you are interested in startups and how to build and run one, please take a look at The Startup Playbook and potentially ordering a copy. I look forward to hearing your feedback.
Will and I are going live on the Techstars Instagram today (July 8) at 1pm ET. Tune in to hear a candid conversation about the book and entrepreneurship between me and my co-author.
