Mojave and the Mac Experience

JumpCloud now officially supports macOS Mojave (10.14) and we’ve optimized the macOS login window to better match Apple’s. You can take a look at our Release Notes for the rundown on all of our new features and functionality.

To keep improving the JumpCloud Mac experience, we want your help. If you have two minutes, please take our Mac Administration Satisfaction Survey. Your answers will go directly to our product team and be factored into feature development decisions.

Important: RADIUS Service Update. New IPs – ACTION REQUIRED

We’re improving the resiliency of our RADIUS-as-a-Service—and the changes will require that you update to new IP addresses by December 1, 2018.

Any applications and/or devices that use JumpCloud’s existing RADIUS server IP addresses will need to be updated with our new IP addresses by that time, or risk service interruption.

There are additional considerations aside from updating the IP addresses. Please refer to our Knowledge Base for more info. If you have any questions please contact support.

MFA Improvements: Enrollment Periods and More

JumpCloud is continuing to improve our multi-factor authentication (MFA) functionality.

First, admins will now be able to define the number of days that a user is permitted to bypass before they’re required to enroll in MFA. In the past, users had a fixed seven day window to enroll in MFA, and were prompted to do so via email. Now, the MFA enrollment prompt also occurs during login to the user portal. Users may dismiss MFA enrollment for the designated number of days. When ready to enroll, users are guided through a new, streamlined MFA setup.

Second, users logging into SAML apps may notice a new look to the SSO login page.  With the new SSO login page, errors triggered by password managers like LastPass have been rectified to ease login for MFA users. Additionally, the SSO login page now provides a consistent experience for both direct and SSO login.

Customer Spotlight: Cabify

We gain insight each time we talk to a JumpCloud customer. This month, we sat down with the Global IT Director at Cabify for a case study. Cabify is a ride-hailing app, based out of Spain, with a presence in 11 countries (and growing).

JumpCloud Customer Success Corner

Our Customer Success team would like to share a couple of tips to help ensure a smooth implementation:

  1. JumpCloud Best Practice – We recommend that you have more than one administrator. That way, if the main admin is out of office, the JumpCloud admin portal can still be leveraged.
  2. New to JumpCloud? – Whether you are a new customer, or just signing up for a free account, attend a webinar. Our weekly “Introduction to Directory-as-a-Service” webinar provides a high-level overview of JumpCloud and an opportunity to ask questions. A recording will be sent to all who register.
