Ben Kepes Interview: Is DevOps A Platform Opportunity?

Directory-as-a-Service

Over the last year, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Ben Kepes – industry luminary, investor, technologist, journalist, and all around good guy. Ben lives in beautiful New Zealand, but he’s been instrumental in the cloud and DevOps space here in the U.S. He’s covered a number of innovations in the market through his regular column in Forbes.

Keeping the DevOps and JumpCloud Conversation Going

I wanted to turn the tables on Ben and get his thoughts and feedback on what is going on in the market. Ben and I have spoken a number of times about JumpCloud and we’ve had great discussions about DevOps and where the market is headed. We specifically have spent a bunch of time on whether there is a platform opportunity in the space (e.g. our Directory-as-a-Service approach to Identity-as-a-Service) or whether specific point solutions are going to win. It’s an interesting discussion and a great debate. I made that the theme of our conversation over Skype recently.

Thanks to Ben for taking the time to chat with us and share his thoughts to the community!
