We recently caught up with Jason Van Goor about what it’s like to work as a Directory Solutions Advisor at JumpCloud.
When did you start working at JumpCloud? July 2021.
Can you run us through a day in the life of your role at JumpCloud? Directory Solutions Advisors are the first direct point of contact that a potential customer has with JumpCloud. It is my job to support prospects through their evaluation of our platform. Since we are a product-led growth company, I encourage prospects to create a free account and provide them with resources to help them start testing JumpCloud in their own IT environment. I answer questions via phone, email, and on our website’s chat. I also set up screen-shares to offer an overview of our platform’s capabilities. During these screen-shares, I provide a personalized demo of the JumpCloud Admin Portal to guide prospects through their evaluation of our platform.
How have you grown as an individual since starting at the company? JumpCloud has enabled me to become a more productive person, both at work and in my personal life. Being surrounded by so many capable professionals inspires me to consistently better myself.

It is my job to demonstrate that value to prospective customers. JumpCloud has a wealth of internal resources that help me better my understanding of how our platform is able to solve challenges that IT professionals face every day. I attend training sessions to learn more about our solutions and I read through our knowledge base articles to learn more about how to implement these solutions. I also shadow or watch recordings of calls that our more experienced platform specialists have with prospects to learn how to better position JumpCloud. The compound effect of doing these small things every day has reaped huge results over the months that I’ve been here.
What is something that you have accomplished at JumpCloud that you are proud of? Building connections while working remotely! This is my first job at a remote-first company and I was nervous that I would be super isolated as a result but I have been able to cultivate relationships with my colleagues here, whether that be from team meetings, socially chatting in Slack, or on virtual happy hours!
What keeps you energized about working at JumpCloud? The vision and the people. I truly believe that JumpCloud has the potential to be the world’s #1 cloud directory platform. Part of that belief stems from the knowledge and passion I see in my fellow JumpCloudians.
What do you like to do on your days off? I like to hike, bike, kayak, snowboard, play soccer, go to concerts, and go out with my friends.
What advice do you have for prospective JumpCloud candidates? If you are interested in working for a remote-first SaaS company with the potential to disrupt markets traditionally controlled by big tech monopolies, come join the team!
What’s something you plan to do in the next year that you’ve never done? Move to Colorado!
If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Italian sub sandwich. ?
Do you have any pets as in-house colleagues? Yes! I live with my dog Biscuit who is a 12-year-old cockapoo and my cat Bowie who is a Siamese/ragdoll mix and will be turning one in a few months!
