Leverage this integration to centralize user lifecycle, user identity, and group management in JumpCloud for Stack Overflow for Teams. Save time and avoid mistakes, as well as potential security risks, related to manually creating users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read this article to learn how to setup the Stack Overflow for Teams integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A JumpCloud Administrator account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Stack Overflow for Teams Business account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Stack Overflow for Teams Tenant ID<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAML is required to set up SCIM. See&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/stackoverflow.help\/en\/articles\/5004535-single-sign-on-sso-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Single Sign-on (SSO) Overview<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/connect-apps-using-pre-built-connectors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SSO using Prebuilt Application Connectors<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Stack Overflow for Teams SCIM API is based on version 2.0 of the&nbsp;SCIM standard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need to update your token, you must&nbsp;deactivate the IdM integration, update the token, and then reactivate the IdM integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stack Overflow for Teams does not allow user creation over SCIM and it relies on Just In Time provisioning when a user presents a valid identity assertion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally, JumpCloud&nbsp;can manage userType via SCIM by enabling manage user roles on SCIM Integration settings page, Values accepted are as below:\n<ul>\n<li>Admin: the user is promoted to an Admin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registered\/Any: If set to any other value (such as Registered), the user is demoted from Admin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The following opeartions are supported for users:\n<ul>\n<li>Deactivate\/Reactivate a user<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally promote\/demote a user to\/from Admin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groups are not supported.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"attribute-considerations\"><strong>Attribute Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A default set of attributes are managed for users. See the&nbsp;<a href=\"#attribute-mappings\">Attribute Mappings<\/a>&nbsp;section for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\"><strong>Creating a new JumpCloud Application Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>USER AUTHENTICATION\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;\u00a0<strong>SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>+&nbsp;Add New Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type the name of the application in the <strong>Search <\/strong>field and select it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Display Label<\/strong>, type your name for the application. Optionally, you can enter a <strong>Description<\/strong>, adjust the User Portal Image and choose to hide or <strong>Show in User Portal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>If this is a Bookmark Application, enter your sign-in URL in the <strong>Bookmark URL<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Optionally, expand <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong> to specify a value for the<strong> SSO IdP URL<\/strong>. If no value is entered, it will default to <kbd>https:\/\/sso.jumpcloud.com\/saml2\/&lt;applicationname&gt;<\/kbd>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card warning\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/warning-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Warning:<\/strong> \n<p>The <strong>SSO IdP URL<\/strong> is not editable after the application is created. You will have to delete and recreate the connector if you need to edit this field at a later time.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Click <strong>Save Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If successful, click:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Configure Application<\/strong> and go to the next section <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Close<\/strong> to configure your new application at a later time <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring the Identity Management Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure Stack Overflow for Teams<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>On the Stack Overflow for Teams application,&nbsp;Navigate to&nbsp;<strong>Admin Settings -&gt; Access Management -&gt; SCIM<\/strong>&nbsp;integration where you will see three options:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enable SCIM<\/strong>&nbsp; &#8211; Determines whether or not the SCIM 2.0 API is active. This must be selected in the checkbox to enable SCIM 2.0 support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Generate a SCIM authorization bearer token<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; The shared secret needed to configure an Identity Provider for SCIM 2.0 integration. Treat this as a password. If lost, a new token must be generated and configured in your Identity Provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Allow SCIM to manage user roles &#8211;<\/strong>&nbsp;Determines whether or not the ability to promote\/demote users to\/from Admin is enabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once these settings are configured, the rest of the work is done at the Identity Provider.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure JumpCloud<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\">Create a new application<\/a>&nbsp;or select it from the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>Identity Managemen<\/strong>t tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are presented with two fields:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Base URL:&nbsp;<\/strong>https:\/\/stackoverflowteams.com\/c\/<span>{<\/span>{YOUR_TENANT_ID}<span>}<\/span>\/auth\/scim\/v2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Token Key<\/strong>: paste the SCIM token you generated in the previous section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>activate&nbsp;<\/strong>and then<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>click&nbsp;<strong>save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will receive a confirmation that the Identity Management integration has been successfully verified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now connect user groups to the application in JumpCloud to provision the members of that group in Stack Overflow for Teams. You can now&nbsp;connect users to the application&nbsp;in JumpCloud to provision them in Stack Overflow for Teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"attribute-mappings\"><strong>Attribute Mappings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following table lists attributes that JumpCloud sends to the application. users have already been created in the application&nbsp;but have not been created in JumpCloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>USER AUTHENTICATION &gt; SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for the application and click to open its configuration panel.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>Identity Management<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>manual import<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the users you want to create in JumpCloud from the application from the list of users that appear. Users in the list have two import statuses:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; user has not been imported<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Imported\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; user has been imported and has an account in JumpCloud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> Try using the New Users-only filter when selecting users to import. This will move all of your new users to the top of the list, making them easier to identify and select.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>import<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>If you are importing less than 100 users, your import results will display in real time and you can continue onboarding your users\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have more than 100 users being imported, JumpCloud will send you an email when your import is complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>You can now connect and grant users access to all their JumpCloud resources. the company name and logo on the left hand panel, click&nbsp;the&nbsp;<strong>Deactivate IdM connection<\/strong>&nbsp;link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>confirm<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If successful, you will receive a confirmation message.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now
