Import users from Paylocity to JumpCloud using the Identity Management (SCIM) integration. Save time and cost related to user account management and avoid mistakes, as well as potential security risks, related to manually creating users.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read this article to learn how to setup the Paylocity integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A JumpCloud administrator account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JumpCloud SSO Package or higher or SSO \u00e0 la carte option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Paylocity user account with administrator permissions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Paylocity company ID<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View and Edit permission to the <strong>HR &amp; Payroll &gt; User Access &gt; SSO Configuration<\/strong> Menu Item in Paylocity Security Role<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paylocity SCIM integration user credentials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>SSO is required for SCIM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paylocity does not support configuration for SSO on a Company Set level\n<ul>\n<li>An SSO Integration must be created for each individual company within the set, as individuals are matched on both the Company ID and either the full work email address or Employee ID in which they reside in Paylocity. These attributes are set as part of the SSO configuration and are provided in the attributes of the SAML response<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Authentication for the Identity Management (SCIM) integration is OAuth2.0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Identity Management (SCIM) integration is only for importing new users from Paylocity to JumpCloud:\n<ul>\n<li>It does not support provisioning or updating from JumpCloud to Paylocity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It currently only supports <em>creating <\/em>new users. Updates to users in Paylocity will not sync back to JumpCloud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"attribute-considerations\"><strong>Attribute Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A default set of attributes are managed for users. See the&nbsp;<a href=\"#attribute-mappings\">Attribute Mappings<\/a>&nbsp;section for more details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The following attribute&nbsp;is not supported by JumpCloud:\n<ul>\n<li>division<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-configuring-the-sso-integration\"><strong>Configuring the SSO Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-to-configure-jumpcloud\"><strong>To configure JumpCloud<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Access the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin&nbsp;Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>Directory Integrations &gt;<\/strong> <strong>HR Directories &gt; Paylocity &gt; Configure.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a&nbsp;<strong>Display Label<\/strong>&nbsp;in the General Info tab. Optionally, you can enter a description and adjust the logo shown for the application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save Application<\/strong> and then <strong>Configure Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>IDP Entity Id<\/strong> field, replace <kbd>YOUR_PAYLOCITY_COMPANY_ID<\/kbd> with your Paylocity company ID to create a unique value, which is required by Paylocity (e.g., JumpCloud-123456).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify the Paylocity User mapping in the <strong>USER ATTRIBUTE MAPPING<\/strong> section.\n<ul>\n<li>Paylocity supports either the full work email address or employee Id for SSO login.&nbsp;The default is set to <kbd>email<\/kbd> but can be changed to the field where the Paylocity employee Id value is stored in JumpCloud, (e.g., <kbd>employeeIdentifier<\/kbd> or a custom field.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>CONSTANT ATTRIBUTES<\/strong> section, replace <kbd>YOUR_PAYLOCITY_COMPANY_ID<\/kbd> with your Paylocity company id for the PaylocityEntity mapping .&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download the JumpCloud metadata<\/strong> <strong>file<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Find&nbsp;your application in the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Applications<\/strong>&nbsp;list and click anywhere in the row to reopen its configuration window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab and click <strong>Export Metadata<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>JumpCloud-&lt;applicationname&gt;-metadata.xml<\/strong> will be exported to your local <strong>Downloads <\/strong>folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Tip:<\/strong> \n<p>Metadata can also be downloaded from the <strong>Configured Applications<\/strong> list. Search for and select the application in the list and then click <strong>Export Metadata<\/strong> in the top right corner of the window.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-to-configure-paylocity\"><strong>To configure Paylocity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log into Paylocity\u2019s HR &amp; Payroll.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>User Access&#8221; &gt; SSO Configuration &gt; SSO Integration<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Add SSO Integration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the following values:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SSO<\/strong> <strong>Provider<\/strong> &#8211; JumpCloud SSO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Status<\/strong> &#8211; Active<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload the Metadata file (xml) generated from the JumpCloud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you have completed the above steps, you can start assigning people to the application.\n<ul>\n<li>Please ensure all users have a username and work email address in Paylocity\u2019s HR &amp; Payroll module<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For any questions, please contact your Paylocity Account Manager at service@paylocity.com<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"authorizing-user-sso-access\"><strong>Authorizing User SSO Access<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Users are implicitly denied access to applications. After you connect an application to JumpCloud, you need to authorize user access to that application. You can authorize user access from the <strong>Application Configuration<\/strong> panel or from the <strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong> panel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To authorize user access from the Application Configuration panel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>USER AUTHENTICATION &gt; SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>, then select the application to which you want to authorize user access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>User Groups<\/strong> tab. If you need to create a new group of users, see <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/get-started-user-groups\">Get Started: User Groups<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the check box next to the group of users you want to give access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To learn how to authorize user access from the&nbsp;<strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong>&nbsp;panel, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/authorize-users-to-an-sso-application#user-groups-configuration-panel\">Authorize Users to an SSO Application<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"validating-sso-authentication-workflows\"><strong>Validating SSO user authentication workflow(s)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-idp-initiated-user-workflow\"><strong>IdP-initiated<\/strong> <strong>user workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Access the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/userconsole#\/\">JumpCloud User Console<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Applications<\/strong> and click an application tile to launch it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JumpCloud asserts the user&#8217;s identity to the SP and is authenticated without the user having to log in to the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sp-initiated-user-workflow\"><strong>SP-initiated<\/strong> <strong>user workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go\u00a0to the SP application login &#8211; generally, there is either a special link or an adaptive username field that detects the user is authenticated through SSO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>This varies by SP.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Login redirects the user to JumpCloud where the user enters their JumpCloud credentials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the user is logged in successfully, they are redirected\u00a0back to the SP and automatically logged in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-configuring-the-identity-management-integration\"><strong>Configuring the Identity Management Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card notification-card important\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/important-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><p><strong>Important:<\/strong> You must configure SSO first. See the sections above.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-to-configure-paylocity-0\"><strong>To configure Paylocity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>In Paylocity, navigate to&nbsp;<strong>HR &amp; Payroll &gt; User Access &gt; SSO Configuration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>SCIM Provisioning<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Yes&nbsp;<\/strong>under&nbsp;<strong>Enable SCIM Provisioning<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a username. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card notification-card important\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/important-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Usernames must be between 8-20 characters and must not contain any special characters other than &#8220;_&#8221; and &#8220;.&#8221;.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Enter a password and confirm it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-to-configure-jumpcloud-0\"><strong>To configure JumpCloud<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Select Paylocity from the\u00a0<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>Identity Management<\/strong>&nbsp;tab and click&nbsp;<strong>Configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A window will open with the&nbsp;<strong>Paylocity Login Page<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the company id and SCIM user credentials and click&nbsp;<strong>Login.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be redirected back to the Paylocity&nbsp;<strong>Identity Management<\/strong>&nbsp;tab in the JumpCloud Admin Portal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"attribute-mappings\"><strong>Attribute Mappings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following table lists attributes that JumpCloud sends to the application. <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for the application and click to open its configuration panel.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>Identity Management<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>manual import<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the users you want to create in JumpCloud from the application from the list of users that appear. Users in the list have two import statuses:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; user has not been imported<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Imported&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; user has been imported and has an account in JumpCloud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> Try using the New Users-only filter when selecting users to import. This will move all of your new users to the top of the list, making them easier to identify and select.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>import<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>If you are importing less than 100 users, your import results will display in real time and you can continue onboarding your users&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have more than 100 users being imported, JumpCloud will send you an email when your import is complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>You can now connect and grant users access to all their JumpCloud resources.
