You can connect Mac, Windows, and Linux devices to JumpCloud by installing the JumpCloud agent. See Agent Compatibility, System Requirements and Impacts<\/a> before you install the agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JumpCloud agent is small, secure, and keeps itself up-to-date. The agent checks in with JumpCloud securely through port 443, provides status, sets policies, reports login event data, etc. See Understand the Agent<\/a> to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Adding a Device<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To add a new device:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT <\/strong>> Devices.<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select the\u00a0Devices<\/strong>\u00a0tab.

  4. Click (\u00a0+<\/strong>\u00a0).\u00a0The Add Device page that appears\u00a0contains various device tabs.

    Each tab includes information about downloading and installing the JumpCloud Agent for that device’s OS. You can also read the following about installing agents from the     command line<\/a>,\u00a0template or System Image<\/a>, or the\u00a0JumpCloud API<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. (Optional) You can\u00a0add the JumpCloud Agent to your allow list\u00a0with your AntiVirus vendor. See Add the JumpCloud Agent to an Allow List<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. After installation completes, the Agent checks in with JumpCloud and is active in the Admin Portal. You can view details about the device on the Device panel.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Viewing Device Information<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    You can view details about the device, use security commands, and turn on JumpCloud’s System Insights, and MFA. See Admin Portal Devices List<\/a> to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
