\n User Enrolled, User Managed <\/td>\n	\n \u274c <\/td>\n	\n \u2714\ufe0f <\/td>\n <\/tr>\n <\/table>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n Managing Enrollment Tokens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Before adding Android devices to your EMM instance, create enrollment tokens that will be used to enroll those devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Adding Enrollment Tokens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n To create a new enrollment token<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > MDM<\/strong>, then select the Google<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Under Android Install<\/strong>, click Create Enrollment Token<\/strong>. $\"\"$ <\/li>\n\n\n\n Select an enrollment type, then click Continue<\/strong>. $\"\"$ <\/li>\n\n\n\n In the Enroll Android Device<\/strong> editor, configure the enrollment token: $\"\"$ \n \n Name<\/strong> (required): Assign a name to the token so that it is identifiable to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Policy<\/strong>: Pre-filled based on the enrollment type selected previously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Token Use<\/strong>: Choose whether the token will be Single-Use<\/strong> (individual) or Multi-Use<\/strong> (batch).<\/li>\n\n\n\n Token Expiration<\/strong>: Choose the duration for which the token will be valid. The default is 1 Hour<\/strong>. If Custom<\/strong>, configure the following:\n \n Expires in<\/strong>: Enter a value that represents the length of time the enrollment token will be valid, from 1<\/strong> to 10,000<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Duration<\/strong>: Select from Minutes<\/strong>, Hours<\/strong>, Days<\/strong>, or Years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n Use this token for Zero-Touch Enrollment?<\/strong>: Select whether the enrollment token will be used to enroll zero-touch devices. To follow the steps for zero-touch enrollment, see Configure Zero-Touch Enrollment for Android<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Assign WiFi network on Enrollment?<\/strong>: If this is not a zero-touch enrollment token, you can configure WiFi settings for the device.\n \n Network Name (SSID)<\/strong>: Enter a name or Service Set Identifier (SSID) for the WiFi network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Hidden Network<\/strong>: Select this option to connect to a WiFi network that is not broadcasting its SSID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Security Type:<\/strong> Determine the access protocol for the WiFi network. Some options will require a password. Choose one of these options:\n \n None<\/strong> \u2013 If selected, the Password<\/strong> field does not appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n WEP-PSK<\/strong> \u2013 The Wired Equivalent Privacy Pre-Shared Key (WEP-PSK) protocol authenticates users on a WiFi connection. These passphrases support only 40-bit (10-digit) or 104-bit (26-digit). Selecting this field makes the Password<\/strong> field appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n WPA-PSK<\/strong> \u2013 The WiFi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK) protocol authenticates users on a WiFi connection. The keys used by WPA are 256-bit, making it more secure than WEP. This selection applies to versions that are WPA, WPA2, and WPA3. Selecting this field makes the Password<\/strong> field appear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n Password<\/strong>: If you selected WEP-PSK or WPA-PSK as the Security Type<\/strong>, enter the WiFi password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select Enable system apps<\/strong> to leave all system apps enabled on the device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select Use mobile network for provisioning<\/strong> to allow provisioning using mobile data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select Allow offline provisioning<\/strong> to allow enrollment of devices in completely closed networks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select Keep screen on (Android 13+)<\/strong> to prevent devices running Android 13 or later from automatically dimming or turning off during provisioning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select Skip education screens<\/strong> to skip introductory screens during the provisioning process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Under Language<\/strong>, select a language to specify the provisioning locale from the drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Under Time Zone<\/strong>, select the device time zone from the drop-down.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click Create Token<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n Viewing or Removing Enrollment Tokens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n The Enrollment Tokens<\/strong> table lists your enrollment tokens in a single location. View at-a-glance information about your existing enrollment tokens, such as Name, Enrollment Type, Expiration, and Token Use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n $\"\"$ <\/figure>\n\n\n\n To delete an enrollment token, select the checkbox next to the token you want to delete, and click Delete<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Enrolling Devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\nEnrolling a Company-Owned Android Device<\/h3>\n\n\n\n If you are handing the device over to the employee, have the device handy because you\u2019ll scan a QR code and set the device up first. If you do not have access to the company-owned Android device, you can also email the direct link to the user to scan and enroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To enroll a company-owned Android device<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > Devices<\/strong>, then click the Devices<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click (+ Device)<\/strong>, then select the Android<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Under Admin Android Configuration<\/strong>, click Create Enrollment Token<\/strong> and select the enrollment type for the company-owned device, then click Continue<\/strong>. $\"\"$ <\/li>\n\n\n\n Configure the enrollment token. Jump to Adding Enrollment Tokens<\/a> for information on the configuration settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click Create Token<\/strong>. An Enroll Your Company-Owned Android Device<\/strong> screen appears. $\"\"$ <\/li>\n\n\n\n On the new or factory-reset (if using existing) device, tap the screen six times in the same spot to trigger a prompt to scan the QR code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Scan the QR code in the Admin Portal with the company-owned device. If QR scanning is not possible, manually enter the enrollment token to proceed.\n\n Authentication screens may appear if Authenticate Using Google<\/strong> is enabled. See Configuring Device Authentication<\/a> to learn more about this setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n On the mobile device, tap ACCEPT & CONTINUE<\/strong> and follow the on-screen instructions to create a work profile. $\"\"$ <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> Note:<\/strong> \n Your screens might look slightly different, depending on the Android OEM (for example, Google, Samsung, LG, or Huawei).<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n \n After the device updates and registers the profile, the work profile appears. This action might take a few minutes. $\"\"$ <\/li>\n\n\n\n Verify that the device appears in the Admin Portal by going to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > Devices<\/strong>, clicking the Devices<\/strong> tab, and checking the device\u2019s status:\n \n $\"\"$ Active<\/strong> – The device is enrolled and is under JumpCloud management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n $\"\"$ Inactive<\/strong> – The device is not currently reporting or was manually disabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> Tip:<\/strong> \n If the device doesn’t appear, ensure that you have network connectivity and repeat the enrollment steps.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n \n Verify that the device was enrolled in EMM:\n \n In the Devices<\/strong> tab, select the device that you just enrolled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select the EMM<\/strong> tab to view enrollment details. $\"View$ <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n (Optional) Bind the device to a device group by selecting the Device Groups<\/strong> tab, selecting the checkbox next to an existing group, and clicking save device<\/strong>. Device groups help you pool together devices for policy enforcement and user account provisioning. See Get Started: Device Groups<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n (Optional) To enforce additional device security, create a policy in the Policies<\/strong> tab and apply it to your devices. See Configure an Android Passcode Policy<\/a> and Create an Android Runtime Permissions Policy<\/a> to learn more. Additional Android policies can control Location Services, VPN Restrictions, Application-based Restrictions, Bluetooth Restrictions, Device Restrictions, Account Restrictions, and more. See Configure Settings for Android Policies<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click Save Device<\/strong> if any configuration changes were made.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Deliver the enrolled device to the user.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\nEnrolling a Personal Android Device<\/h3>\n\n\n\n As the Admin, you have to enable personal device enrollment before an employee can enroll a personal Android device. Users should be in a private, secure environment before they scan the QR code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To enable a personal Android device<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > Devices<\/strong>, then click the Devices<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click (+ Device)<\/strong>, then select the Android<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> Tip:<\/strong> \n You can also add devices by going to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > MDM<\/strong>, then selecting the Google<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n \n In the New Device panel, enable enrollment for personal devices by going to User Android Configuration<\/strong> and selecting Allow users to enroll personal mobile devices and access Enroll Your Android Device in the User Portal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click Select the Device Group<\/strong> to choose a device group where this device will automatically be enrolled.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/p><\/div> Tip:<\/strong> \n You can’t delete the default Android device group that you choose here. To change the default group, assign the enrolled devices to another device group, and then delete it.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> Important:<\/strong> \n If the default device group you select is configured to update group membership dynamically, ensure that the group\u2019s membership rules are compatible with the devices you\u2019re expecting to auto-enroll. See Configure Dynamic Device Groups<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n \n Click save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n After you enable a personal Android device to be able to access company data, instruct the user to follow the instructions in Users: Enroll a Personal Android Device<\/a> to scan the QR code and enroll the device. <\/li>\n\n\n\n After the user finishes Step 7, verify that the device was enrolled:\n \n Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > Devices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click the Devices<\/strong> tab, then select the Android device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select the EMM<\/strong> tab and check that the device is enrolled.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n (Optional) Apply a policy to provide additional device security:\n\n Passcode<\/strong> – Enforce a device passcode for the device itself, and a passcode to access corporate applications and data within the work profile. See <\/a>Create an Android Passcode Policy<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Runtime Permissions<\/strong> – Set a default response to runtime permission requests that are made by Android work apps. See Create an Android Runtime Permissions Polic<\/a>y<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Custom Payload<\/strong> – Control the behavior of a managed device and the apps installed on it by providing JSON content to create a custom policy. You can filter how device info is displayed and perform additional actions:\n \n Click the Operating System<\/strong> column to reorder the devices by OS type or click <\/strong>the horizontal three line filter icon next to the search bar and click Android<\/strong> > Apply<\/strong> to only view Android devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n After you select at least one device, click Actions<\/strong> to enable MFA or System Insights on multiple devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n You can\u2019t remove a device\u2019s status and name from the Devices list, but you can customize the other columns to show only the information you want to see. For example, instead of showing Last Contact<\/strong>, click the columns<\/strong> down arrow and choose Serial Number<\/strong> or another column name. You can select up to eight columns.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n Select a device and click Insights<\/strong> to view more info, such as OS version, serial number, model, and storage usage. <\/li>\n\n\n\n (Optional) Bind a device to a device group:\n\n Select a device, then select the Device Groups<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Bind the device to a device group by selecting the checkbox next to an existing group. If you have not yet created a device group, see Getting Started: Device Groups<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Click Save Device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n (Optional) Add a security policy to a device to make it more secure by selecting the Policies<\/strong> tab and assigning a policy to the device. If you have not created Android policies yet, see Configure Settings for Android Policies<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n (Optional) If needed, you can remotely execute these management commands from the Actions<\/strong> menu of a device by selecting the device in the Devices<\/strong> tab: $\"Access$ \n \n Reset Passcode<\/strong> – Click Reset Passcode<\/strong> to create a new passcode, which must have a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters and include at least one special character. You must enter the new passcode, then click Save<\/strong>. For devices enrolled with a work profile, the passcode that is reset is the work profile passcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Lock Device\u00a0<\/strong>– Click\u00a0Lock Device<\/strong>\u00a0to remotely lock a lost Android device, then click\u00a0Yes, Lock<\/strong>. For devices enrolled with a work profile, the work profile passcode is locked and the container will remain locked until the end user enters the Work Profile passcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Enable Lost Mode<\/strong> – Click Enable Lost Mode<\/strong> to place the device in lost mode if it is lost or stolen. Configure external messaging to be displayed on the lock screen. See Enable Lost Mode on Mobile Devices<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Restart Device<\/strong> – Click Restart Device<\/strong> to immediately restart this Android device. Any unsaved work on the device will be lost.\n \n Note: This action is supported on fully managed or dedicated devices running Android 7.0 (API level 24) or later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n Erase Device<\/strong> or Remove Work Profile<\/strong> – Depending on the type of device, one of these buttons is visible:\n \n Erase Device<\/strong> – Click Erase<\/strong> to permanently remove all data from this corporate-owned device. The device will be reset to factory settings and you\u2019ll no longer manage the device. If you\u2019re troubleshooting an issue, erase the device only after trying other solutions. To manage this device in the future, the end user must re-enroll the device and enter pre-defined security information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Remove Work Profile<\/strong> – Click Remove<\/strong> to permanently delete the work profile on a personal Android device. This deletes all company data, apps, and policies in the work profile. To use this personal device to access company information in the future, you\u2019ll need to re-enroll the device. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> Tip:<\/strong> \n The Erase Device command might be delayed if the device is turned off, does not have network connectivity, or the end user has not attempted to enter the work profile. Before adding Android devices to your EMM instance, create enrollment tokens that will be used to enroll those devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding Enrollment Tokens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
To create a new enrollment token<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Go to DEVICE MANAGEMENT > MDM<\/strong>, then select the Google<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Under Android Install<\/strong>, click Create Enrollment Token<\/strong>.

Token Use<\/strong>: Choose whether the token will be Single-Use<\/strong> (individual) or Multi-Use<\/strong> (batch).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Token Expiration<\/strong>: Choose the duration for which the token will be valid. The default is 1 Hour<\/strong>. If Custom<\/strong>, configure the following:\n

Expires in<\/strong>: Enter a value that represents the length of time the enrollment token will be valid, from 1<\/strong> to 10,000<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Duration<\/strong>: Select from Minutes<\/strong>, Hours<\/strong>, Days<\/strong>, or Years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Use this token for Zero-Touch Enrollment?<\/strong>: Select whether the enrollment token will be used to enroll zero-touch devices. To follow the steps for zero-touch enrollment, see Configure Zero-Touch Enrollment for Android<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Assign WiFi network on Enrollment?<\/strong>: If this is not a zero-touch enrollment token, you can configure WiFi settings for the device.\n
\n
Network Name (SSID)<\/strong>: Enter a name or Service Set Identifier (SSID) for the WiFi network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Hidden Network<\/strong>: Select this option to connect to a WiFi network that is not broadcasting its SSID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Security Type:<\/strong> Determine the access protocol for the WiFi network. Some options will require a password. Choose one of these options:\n

None<\/strong> \u2013 If selected, the Password<\/strong> field does not appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
WEP-PSK<\/strong> \u2013 The Wired Equivalent Privacy Pre-Shared Key (WEP-PSK) protocol authenticates users on a WiFi connection. These passphrases support only 40-bit (10-digit) or 104-bit (26-digit). Selecting this field makes the Password<\/strong> field appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
WPA-PSK<\/strong> \u2013 The WiFi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK) protocol authenticates users on a WiFi connection. The keys used by WPA are 256-bit, making it more secure than WEP. This selection applies to versions that are WPA, WPA2, and WPA3. Selecting this field makes the Password<\/strong> field appear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Password<\/strong>: If you selected WEP-PSK or WPA-PSK as the Security Type<\/strong>, enter the WiFi password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select Enable system apps<\/strong> to leave all system apps enabled on the device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select Use mobile network for provisioning<\/strong> to allow provisioning using mobile data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select Allow offline provisioning<\/strong> to allow enrollment of devices in completely closed networks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select Keep screen on (Android 13+)<\/strong> to prevent devices running Android 13 or later from automatically dimming or turning off during provisioning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select Skip education screens<\/strong> to skip introductory screens during the provisioning process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Under Language<\/strong>, select a language to specify the provisioning locale from the drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Under Time Zone<\/strong>, select the device time zone from the drop-down.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Click the Devices<\/strong> tab and review the list of Android devices. You can filter how device info is displayed and perform additional actions:\n

Click the Operating System<\/strong> column to reorder the devices by OS type or click <\/strong>the horizontal three line filter icon next to the search bar and click Android<\/strong> > Apply<\/strong> to only view Android devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
After you select at least one device, click Actions<\/strong> to enable MFA or System Insights on multiple devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
You can\u2019t remove a device\u2019s status and name from the Devices list, but you can customize the other columns to show only the information you want to see. For example, instead of showing Last Contact<\/strong>, click the columns<\/strong> down arrow and choose Serial Number<\/strong> or another column name. You can select up to eight columns.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select a device and click Insights<\/strong> to view more info, such as OS version, serial number, model, and storage usage. <\/li>\n\n\n\n

(Optional) Add a security policy to a device to make it more secure by selecting the Policies<\/strong> tab and assigning a policy to the device. If you have not created Android policies yet, see Configure Settings for Android Policies<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
(Optional) If needed, you can remotely execute these management commands from the Actions<\/strong> menu of a device by selecting the device in the Devices<\/strong> tab:

Reset Passcode<\/strong> – Click Reset Passcode<\/strong> to create a new passcode, which must have a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters and include at least one special character. You must enter the new passcode, then click Save<\/strong>. For devices enrolled with a work profile, the passcode that is reset is the work profile passcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Lock Device\u00a0<\/strong>– Click\u00a0Lock Device<\/strong>\u00a0to remotely lock a lost Android device, then click\u00a0Yes, Lock<\/strong>. For devices enrolled with a work profile, the work profile passcode is locked and the container will remain locked until the end user enters the Work Profile passcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Enable Lost Mode<\/strong> – Click Enable Lost Mode<\/strong> to place the device in lost mode if it is lost or stolen. Configure external messaging to be displayed on the lock screen. See Enable Lost Mode on Mobile Devices<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Restart Device<\/strong> – Click Restart Device<\/strong> to immediately restart this Android device. Any unsaved work on the device will be lost.\n

Note: This action is supported on fully managed or dedicated devices running Android 7.0 (API level 24) or later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Erase Device<\/strong> or Remove Work Profile<\/strong> – Depending on the type of device, one of these buttons is visible:\n

Erase Device<\/strong> – Click Erase<\/strong> to permanently remove all data from this corporate-owned device. The device will be reset to factory settings and you\u2019ll no longer manage the device. If you\u2019re troubleshooting an issue, erase the device only after trying other solutions. To manage this device in the future, the end user must re-enroll the device and enter pre-defined security information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Remove Work Profile<\/strong> – Click Remove<\/strong> to permanently delete the work profile on a personal Android device. This deletes all company data, apps, and policies in the work profile. To use this personal device to access company information in the future, you\u2019ll need to re-enroll the device. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

The Erase Device command might be delayed if the device is turned off, does not have network connectivity, or the end user has not attempted to enter the work profile.
