When applied, it completely restricts both local and managed users from accessing the App Store on their macOS devices to prevent unauthorized application downloads or purchases. Users will encounter a &#8220;You don&#8217;t have permission to use the App Store&#8221; message when attempting to access the App Store on devices where this policy is applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Considerations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>JumpCloud admins will still be able to deploy applications via Software Management to managed devices where this policy is applied, including Volume Purchase Program (VPP) apps, self-hosted apps, and applications in the JumpCloud Private Repository. \n<ul>\n<li>See <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/software-management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Get Started: Software Management<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To configure an App Store Restrictions policy for macOS<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>DEVICE MANAGEMENT<\/strong> &gt;<strong> Policy Management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>All<\/strong> tab, then click (<strong>+<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the New Policy panel, select the <strong>Mac<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the <strong>Restrict App Store<\/strong> policy, then click <strong>configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) In the <strong>Policy Name<\/strong> field, enter a new name for the policy or keep the default. Policy names must be unique.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) In the <strong>Policy Notes<\/strong> field, enter details like when you created the policy, where you tested it, and where you deployed it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) Select the <strong>Device Groups<\/strong> tab. Select one or more device groups where you&#8217;ll apply this policy. For device groups with multiple OS member types, the policy is applied only to the supported OS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) Select the <strong>Devices<\/strong> tab.
