HTTP proxies are used to secure users\u2019 devices by inspecting their web traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JumpCloud provides these policies to specify a proxy for all HTTP traffic to and from a user\u2019s device:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mac Global HTTP Proxy<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; For macOS devices enrolled in MDM running macOS 11 and later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>iOS Global HTTP Proxy<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; For iOS devices enrolled in MDM running iOS 13 and later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To create a Global HTTP Proxy policy for Mac or iOS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the Admin Portal:&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/login\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/login<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>DEVICE MANAGEMENT &gt; Policy Management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>All&nbsp;<\/strong>tab, click (<strong>+<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the New Policy panel, select the&nbsp;<strong>Mac<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>iOS&nbsp;<\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Global HTTP Proxy from the list, then click&nbsp;<strong>configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) In the <strong>Policy Name<\/strong> field, enter a new name for the policy or keep the default. Policy names must be unique.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) In the&nbsp;<strong>Policy Notes<\/strong> field, enter details like when you created the policy, where you tested it, and where you deployed it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Type<\/strong>, choose one of these types:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Manual<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; If a proxy requires manual configuration, including server name, server port, or authentication, choose Manual. A manual proxy\u2019s profile contains the proxy server address, server port, and optionally a user name and password. Manual is the default.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Auto<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; Connect automatically to the destination through a proxy auto configuration (PAC) file. The PAC file is a JavaScript file that determines how &nbsp;web browser requests are handled.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>If you chose&nbsp;<strong>Automatic<\/strong>&nbsp;in Step 6, complete these fields:\n<ol class=\"enter is-lower-alpha\">\n<li>For&nbsp;<strong>PAC URL<\/strong>, enter the URL for the PAC file that defines the proxy configuration. Only URLs that begin with http:\/\/ or https:\/\/ are allowed. For example,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/centralproxy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/CentralProxy.com<\/a>. This is not required for a Manual Proxy type.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For&nbsp;<strong>Port<\/strong>, enter the proxy server\u2019s port number. For example, 80. This is not required for a Manual Proxy type.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li>If you chose&nbsp;<strong>Manual<\/strong>&nbsp;in Step 6, complete these fields:\n<ol class=\"enter is-lower-alpha\">\n<li>For&nbsp;<strong>Authentication<\/strong>, enter the user name to authenticate to the proxy server. For example, CentralProxy. This is not required for an Automatic HTTP Proxy type, unless access to your PAC file is protected by HTTP-Basic Authentication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For&nbsp;<strong>Password<\/strong>, enter the password to authenticate to the proxy server. Select one or more device groups where you&#8217;ll apply this policy. For device groups with multiple OS member types, the policy is applied only to the supported OS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) Select the&nbsp;<strong>Devices<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.
