Read this article to learn how to enable MFA for administrators.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Obtain an application to&nbsp;generate TOTP tokens.&nbsp;See <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/set-up-authenticator-app-for-user-account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Set Up Authenticator App for User Account<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Considerations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>An admin with the <strong>Administrator with Billing<\/strong> role can enable MFA for themself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An admin with the <strong>Administrator<\/strong> role cannot enable MFA for an admin with the <strong>Administrator with Billing<\/strong> role.\n<ul>\n<li>See&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/manage-admin-accounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manage Admin Accounts<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The JumpCloud MFA requirement is not applicable when administrators use <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/enable-jc-admins-to-sign-in-with-gws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sign in with Google<\/a> for login. In such cases, the MFA configured on the Google account will apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-enabling-mfa-for-the-administrator\">Enabling MFA for the Administrator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>JumpCloud now requires MFA for all admins. The non-editable <strong>Global MFA Requirement<\/strong> setting can be viewed in the Admin Portal under <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Security<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Admin Accounts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-viewing-enrollment-requirements-and-enrollment-status\">Viewing Enrollment Requirements and Enrollment Status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>View at-a-glance information on the MFA health of all admins in your org in <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Administrators<\/strong>. The administrators list shows two relevant columns for MFA &#8211; <strong>MFA: Requiremen<\/strong>t and <strong>MFA: Enrollment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>MFA: Requirement<\/strong>, possible statuses are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Required<\/strong>: Admin is required to use MFA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not Required<\/strong>: Admin is not required to use MFA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>MFA: Enrolled<\/strong>, possible statuses are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enrolled<\/strong>: Admin has taken a step to enroll in MFA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not Enrolled<\/strong>: Admin has not yet taken a step to enroll in MFA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-monitoring-enrollment-status\">Monitoring Enrollment Status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Admins Without MFA Required<\/strong> widget on the Admin Portal Home page shows how many Admins in your org do not have MFA required for Admin Portal login. Click the tile to view a list of the Admins without MFA required. From the list view, you can take the bulk action of enforcing MFA for some or all of the Admins listed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>Administrator roles determine who will be able to see and interact with this widget:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Administrator with Billing &#8211; Can see the widget and can take action on the list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Administrator Only, Help Desk, Manager, Read Only&nbsp; &#8211; Can see the widget but cannot take action on the list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Billing Only &#8211; Cannot see the Home page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Command Runner, Command Runner with Billing &#8211; Can see the Home page but&nbsp;cannot see this widget<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/admin-portal-roles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Admin Portal Roles<\/a> for more information on roles.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"730\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/admins-wo-mfa-widget-home-1024x730.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-103556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/admins-wo-mfa-widget-home-1024x730.png 1024w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/admins-wo-mfa-widget-home-300x214.png 300w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/admins-wo-mfa-widget-home-768x547.png 768w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/admins-wo-mfa-widget-home.png 1224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To require MFA for Admins on Admin Portal login<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>From the Admin Portal <strong>Home<\/strong> page, click the <strong>Admins Without MFA Required<\/strong> tile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the <strong>Admins Without MFA Required<\/strong> list, select the Admins you want to enforce MFA login for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Actions<\/strong>, then click <strong>Require MFA<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the confirmation modal, click <strong>Require MFA<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Admin will be required to log in with MFA on their next Admin Portal login.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Tip:<\/strong> \n<p>You can enforce MFA for all admins by enabling the <strong>Global MFA Requirement<\/strong> under <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Admins Without MFA Required<\/strong> widget can be removed from the Admin Portal <strong>Home<\/strong> page, if desired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To remove the Admins Without MFA Required widget<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>From the Admin Portal, go to <strong>Home<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Configure and Customize Widgets<\/strong>, toggle <strong>Admins Without MFA Required<\/strong> to off. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resetting-or-enrolling-in-mfa-as-an-admin\">Resetting or Enrolling in MFA as an Admin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t enrolled in MFA and your organization requires it, or if you\u2019re locked out of your JumpCloud Administrator account after enabling MFA, you can enroll or reset from the Admin Portal login flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When prompted for MFA, click the link at the bottom of the<strong> Verify Your Identity<\/strong> page to reset or enroll. You may also ask the designated admin for your company to reset it for you.<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"718\" height=\"592\" class=\"wp-image-111500\" style=\"width: 500px\" MFA<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Download an Authenticator App<\/strong>&nbsp;if you do not have one already or click&nbsp;<strong>I Have An App<\/strong>&nbsp;if you already do.<br><img
