- We recommend that you activate SSO for RingCentral prior to creating an Identity Management integration with RingCentral to simplify the login process for your users and reduce the number of usernames and passwords they have to remember. If you aren\u2019t going to use SSO, we recommend that you hide it to prevent it from appearing in the User Portal Application list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- RingCentral supports a number<\/kbd> user attribute that is populated by default and required <\/strong>for SSO to work. Optionally, you can map a JumpCloud user attribute to this field to dynamically apply a user\u2019s number to their account. Alternately, you can use JumpCloud custom attributes to store and pass this value in an assertion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- The administrator’s email address must be URL encoded, e.g., for an email address of testing12+3@jumpcloud.com<\/kbd>, the encoded email address is testing12%2B3%2540jumpcloud.com<\/kbd>. To encode your email address:\n

- The RingCentral account must have available DigitalLines (licenses) to provision users from JumpCloud. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- RingCentral SCIM integration requires a User Admin or higher role. Learn more about RingCentral\u2019s User Roles and Permissions<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- If you delete an integrated RingCentral application from your Applications list, the application is removed from JumpCloud, but any previously bound users remain active in RingCentral. These users will be able log in to RingCentral with the password they used prior to enablement of SSO to the RingCentral application from your JumpCloud account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- If you deactivate the Identity Management on your RingCentral application and SSO is activated, previously bound users remain active in RingCentral and are able to authenticate using SSO. No further updates will be made to user accounts via the Identity Management integration.\n

- Users created via SCIM integration should also be deleted via SCIM integration. Otherwise, the administrator must disable the user prior to deleting them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Users deactivated via the SCIM integration can only be deleted via the SCIM integration after reactivating them and then deleting them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- If you need to update your token, you must deactivate the IdM integration<\/a>, update the token, and then reactivate the IdM integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Newly provisioned users receive an activation email with a link to set up their account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- User accounts in a pending status can\u2019t be managed; they can only be deleted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- If a user\u2019s password expires in JumpCloud, their account becomes suspended and they are deactivated in all applications that have Identity Management configured and, are associated to them. Once the user\u2019s password is updated, the account and previously associated applications are reactivated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Attribute Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

- A default set of attributes are managed for users. See the Attribute Mappings<\/a> section for more details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Any extra attributes sent to the API are ignored. If you define an address for a user, you must set a country <\/kbd>value. The country<\/kbd> value must match one of the countries associated with an unassigned extension, otherwise, the user isn’t added to RingCentral.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- At the moment of provisioning the\u00a0username\u00a0<\/kbd>and\u00a0email\u00a0<\/kbd>should match.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Creating a new JumpCloud Application Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

- Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Authorizing User SSO Access<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Users are implicitly denied access to applications. After you connect an application to JumpCloud, you need to authorize user access to that application. You can authorize user access from the Application Configuration<\/strong> panel or from the Groups Configuration<\/strong> panel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To authorize user access from the Application Configuration panel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

- Log in to the <\/a>JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Go to USER AUTHENTICATION > SSO<\/strong> Applications<\/strong>, then select the application to which you want to authorize user access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Select the User Groups<\/strong> tab. If you need to create a new group of users, see Get Started: User Groups<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Select the check box next to the group of users you want to give access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
