Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carefully consider who you give access to Administrator with Billing<\/strong> and Administrator<\/strong> role permissions. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
You must always have at least one admin and one user with billing access on the account. These can be the same person.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
It is recommended to establish at least 2 admins in your JumpCloud console to secure redundancies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Admins without the Administrator with Billing<\/strong> role permissions applied can\u2019t perform the following actions:\n\n
Add new Admins or Orgs in the MTP<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Edit Admins in the MTP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Admins are notified when they don’t have permissions to take certain actions. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
After you’ve launched an organization from the MTP, you can’t edit MTP roles. You can only edit the admin roles within that org. MTP admin roles can only be edited while you are in the MTP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
When creating a new admin, API access will be disabled by default.\n
\n
Only Admins with Billing Role can enable this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Add an Admin Role<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
To add an admin role<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
Log in to your MTP: https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Select the Administrators<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Click the Plus<\/strong> icon ( +<\/strong> ) to add a new admin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
In the Details<\/strong> tab, complete the fields.\n
\n
Optional<\/strong>: Toggle MFA requirements on or off. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
Admins with MFA required will need to set up their MFA on next login.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Click the Permissions & Access <\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Click Role<\/strong>, and select an option from the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
If you want to give the admin API access, select the checkbox next to Enable API access<\/strong>. See JumpCloud API\u2019s<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
In the Organization Access<\/strong> field, select which org(s) you want to give the selected level of admin access to.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Click Save User<\/strong>. The saved roles will appear in the list view.\n\n
The assigned role allows varying permissions for each administrator. Learn more about which JumpCloud Admin Portal Roles<\/a> are appropriate for your organization’s admins. The roles available are:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

Administrator with Billing<\/strong>: Super admin with all admin privileges including managing billing, other JumpCloud admins, and the MTP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Administrator<\/strong>: Manage users, groups, devices, user authentication, directory integrations, security, and account management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Manager<\/strong>: Manage users, devices, and groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Help Desk<\/strong>: Intended for internal help dev teams. Create and delete users, reset account passwords, and unlock users.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Billing Only<\/strong>: Accounts with this role can access the Account tab in the MTP, with Read Only permissions everywhere else. From the Account tab, Admins can review the Account Overview, review payment history, update mailing and billing information, and view the usage associated with the account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Read Only<\/strong>: Access and view users and other JumpCloud resources, but can’t perform any management tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

You can Send Password Reset Email<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
