JumpCloud recommends when possible to utilize PEAP for authentication, as no additional configuration is necessary with rare exceptions.&nbsp; Please refer to <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/configure-your-wifi-clients-to-use-radius\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Configure your WiFi Clients to use RADIUS<\/em><\/a><em> for additional information.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Prerequisites:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/radius-configuration-and-authentication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Radius Configuration and Authentication<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/configure-a-wap-vpn-or-router-for-radius\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Configure a Wireless Access Point (WAP), VPN or Router for RADIUS<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This process is for the initial configuration to use the JumpCloud RADIUS certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To learn more about the RADIUS authentication protocols supported by JumpCloud, see <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/radius-protocol-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RADIUS Protocol Support.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For Apple products, administrators can can leverage the free <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/apple-configurator-2\/id1037126344?mt=12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apple Configurator<\/a>. The instructions below walk step by step through this process utilizing Apple Configurator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>If administrators had previously purchased Mac Server, it can still be used, but Apple no longer sells this application.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating the Profile with Apple Configurator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.jumpcloud.com\/support\/s\/article\/updating-radius-certificates-on-existing-eap-ttls-client-systems-2019-08-21-10-36-47\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RADIUS server certificate<\/a> to your local system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Apple Configurator from your <em>Applications Folder<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on Apple File Menu at the top of your screen and choose <strong>New Profile<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Saving the Profile on Mac<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Select <strong>Certificates<\/strong> from the left navigation and choose <strong>Configure<\/strong>.<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1466\" height=\"782\" class=\"wp-image-80598\" style=\"width: 600px\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-saving-the-profile-mac.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-saving-the-profile-mac.png 1466w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-saving-the-profile-mac-300x160.png 300w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-saving-the-profile-mac-1024x546.png 1024w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-saving-the-profile-mac-768x410.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1466px) 100vw, 1466px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Browse to downloaded certificate, select the file, and <strong>Open<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Wi-Fi<\/strong> from the left navigation and choose<strong> Configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once in this screen, you should apply these settings as seen below:<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"777\" height=\"968\" class=\"wp-image-80593\" style=\"width: 600px\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/EAP-TTLS-configurator-settings-1.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/EAP-TTLS-configurator-settings-1.png 777w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/EAP-TTLS-configurator-settings-1-241x300.png 241w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/EAP-TTLS-configurator-settings-1-768x957.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 777px) 100vw, 777px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the Wi-Fi page, under Enterprise Settings, select <strong>Trust<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the<a href=\"https:\/\/radius.jumpcloud.com\/\"> radius.jumpcloud.com<\/a> certificate box and <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the profile warning, select <strong>Save Anyway<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>General<\/strong> from the left navigation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter in a Name for the Profile, populate the remaining settings, and <strong>Save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To distribute, click the Apple File menu at the top of your screen and click Sign Profile&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"is-lower-alpha\">\n<li>Search for and open the Profiles utility on the Mac where the Profile is to be saved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the Add Profile symbol<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"11\">\n<li>Select the Profile you saved while creating the WiFi profile per the steps above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will initially be prompted to confirm you want to install the profile. Click <strong>Continue<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may be prompted to ensure you want to continue to install the profile. Click <strong>Continue<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When installing, you will be prompted for a user name which can be left blank. Click <strong>Install<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When prompted, sign in to the Mac with administrator privileges.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Profile will then be successfully installed.<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"670\" height=\"436\" class=\"wp-image-80594\" style=\"width: 550px\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-successful-profile.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-successful-profile.png 670w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/eap-ttls-successful-profile-300x195.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>It is recommended to remove other profiles to ensure there are no conflicts.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Logging into the RADIUS-Integrated WAP<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>From the WiFi icon in your topbar, select the Wireless SSID you input in your Apple Configurator Profile.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"is-lower-alpha\">\n<li>You will be prompted to see the certificate for the JumpCloud RADIUS server&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will then be prompted to authenticate against the RADIUS&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Removing Wireless Network Profile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose to utilize PEAP for authentication instead of EAP-TTLS\/PAP, or are possibly looking to remove the service, you will be required to delete the existing wireless connection.&nbsp; After the connection has been successfully removed you may again connect to your WAP or Router device using non-EAP-TTLS methods.&nbsp; No additional configuration is required for PEAP with JumpCloud RADIUS, so with the old profile removed the user may connect to networking device normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the Apple menu and choose <strong>System Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Privacy &amp; Security<\/strong> and scroll to <strong>Others<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Profiles<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the wireless network that applies to your RADIUS EAP-TTLS configuration in the left pane.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once selected, click the &#8211; <em>(minus)<\/em> displayed at the bottom-left of the window to delete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Additional configuration is necessary if opting to use EAP-TTLS\/PAP authentication for wireless clients.
