This article guides you through the methods you can use to install the JumpCloud Agent on your Windows devices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n There are two methods to install the JumpCloud Agent as an MSI file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> You can also uninstall the JumpCloud Agent using the same MSI file. <\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n You can install the JumpCloud Agent using either the Windows command line or PowerShell. First, you must download the MSI file: <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> This file is not device specific. You can reuse the file across multiple devices.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n Once the file is downloaded, you must enter one of the commands below depending on whether you are running the command line or PowerShell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n msiexec \/i \u201c<path to file>\\<msi name>.msi\u201d \/quiet JCINSTALLERARGUMENTS=”-k <connect key without brackets> \/VERYSILENT \/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n msiexec \/i \u201c<path to file>\\<msi name>.msi\u201d \/quiet JCINSTALLERARGUMENTS=`”-k <connect key without brackets> \/VERYSILENT \/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES`”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n The JumpCloud Agent is installed when the command finishes running. <\/p>\n\n\n\n To manually install the JumpCloud Agent MSI file on a single device:<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> This file is not device specific. You can reuse the file across multiple devices.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n You can also install the JumpCloud Agent to Windows devices by using Windows Group Policy Objects (GPO) to deploy the PowerShell install script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> For more information, see Microsoft’s Use Group Policy to remotely install software<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> See Microsoft’s Create a Group Policy Object<\/a><\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/div> The location of the script must be a UNC path and not a local path.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n After reboot, the JumpCloud Agent is installed on startup without admin privileges required. You should see these events once the Agent is installed successfully:<\/p>\n\n\n\n To install the JumpCloud Agent using PowerShell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n When enrolled in MDM, you can bulk install the JumpCloud Agent on Windows devices with a provisioning package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After you\u2019ve installed the agent on the destination Windows device, you’ll need to verify that the installation works with JumpCloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can verify the installation on a Windows device from the following places:<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Windows, the JumpCloud Agent is displayed in Control Panel <\/strong>> Programs and Features<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJumpCloud Agent vX.X.X\u201d should be displayed in the programs pane if it\u2019s installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The JumpCloud Agent operates as a Windows service, and may be viewed within Services Manager:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The JumpCloud Agent service should be present, and under the Status column it should be listed as Running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can verify the Agent was installed correctly and works with JumpCloud device’s Insights tab:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
