Using <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/integrate-with-aws-iam-identity-center\">JumpCloud SSO<\/a>, a JumpCloud-enabled BYOL image and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.aws.amazon.com\/workspaces\/latest\/adminguide\/amazon-workspaces.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon WorkSpaces Personal<\/a>, admins can provision persistent virtual devices for users that are accessible from multiple devices or web browsers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/blog\/jumpcloud-support-aws-workspaces\">blog&nbsp;<\/a>for more information about our partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A JumpCloud tenant and admin account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JumpCloud SSO Package or higher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An AWS Identity Center instance and admin account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/integrate-with-aws-iam-identity-center\">AWS IAM Identity Center SSO<\/a> configured and enabled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.aws.amazon.com\/workspaces\/latest\/adminguide\/byol-windows-images.html#windows_images_enable_byol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BYOL<\/a> is enabled for your WorkSpaces account and an AWS <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-server\/get-started\/kms-create-host\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KMS<\/a> server that your personal WorkSpaces can access for Windows 10 and 11 activation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An Amazon S3 bucket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-installation-overview\">Installation Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Create an Amazon WorkSpaces Directory\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.aws.amazon.com\/workspaces\/latest\/adminguide\/byol-windows-images.html#windows_images_enable_byol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BYOL<\/a> is enabled on your account<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create JumpCloud Virtual Machine (VM)\n<ul>\n<li>Download latest Windows ISO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configure JumpCloud VM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run BYOL Checker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create JumpCloud BYOL Image\n<ul>\n<li>Upload the VHD to an S3 bucket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Export VHD to Amazon EC2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Import image into WorkSpaces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configure WorkSpaces\n<ul>\n<li>Create a custom bundle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create JumpCloud workspace(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect JumpCloud user accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-an-amazon-workspaces-directory\">Creating an Amazon WorkSpaces Directory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.aws.amazon.com\/workspaces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WorkSpaces console<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>Directories <\/strong>in the left menu and click <strong>Create directory<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Personal<\/strong> and then scroll down and select <strong>Custom<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <strong>User identity source<\/strong>, select your IAM Identity Center instance from the dropdown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the following in the <strong>Directory information<\/strong> section:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Directory name<\/strong> &#8211; name of your directory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Directory description<\/strong> &#8211; add a description <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>VPC<\/strong> &#8211; if not already displayed, select it from the dropdown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Subnet 1<\/strong> &#8211; 52GB<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TPM &#8211; enabled <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checkpoints &#8211; disabled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initialize from the ISO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skip naming the computer in the image (if you are making multiple images or all the computers will have the same name)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Tip:<\/strong> \n<p>See Amazon&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.aws.amazon.com\/workspaces\/latest\/adminguide\/create-custom-bundle.html#custom_computer_name\">Specify a custom computer name format for your image<\/a> if you want to name the the computer image.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Start the VM and set up Windows 11. During setup, choose:\n<ul>\n<li>Work\/school account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>domain <\/strong>option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a local account named <kbd>WorkSpaces_BYOL<\/kbd> and password<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save the local admin account info in a secure location, like JumpCloud Password Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shut down the VM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the VM settings, remove the DVD drive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restart the VM, log in as WorkSpaces_BYOL and password, make sure all the latest Windows updates are installed, and pause Windows Updates, for example, for one week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/login\/admin\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>, go to <strong>Device Management &gt;
