This user must be able to look up users, groups, and roles in the Directory Information Tree (DIT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<kbd>modifyTimestamp<\/kbd>&nbsp;attribute indexed on your LDAP server. This improves the performance of incremental imports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Okta LDAP agent is available for both Windows and Linux OSes:\n<ul>\n<li>On Windows, a set of Registry modifications are required prior to installing the agent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Agent Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use a Windows or Linux agent to connect LDAP with your&nbsp;Okta&nbsp;org. If you&#8217;re upgrading from a version 4.x agent or earlier to a version 5.x agent, uninstall the old agent before installing the new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Windows agent requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The host server must be running Windows server 2012, Windows server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, or Windows server 2022<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Windows server must be able to reach the LDAP host and port<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The TLS 1.2 security protocol must be enabled with the following registry key settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Linux agent requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Linux-based agent must be installed on an RPM-enabled Linux distribution, such as CentOS or Red Hat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DPKG-enabled Linux distributions are also supported, such as Debian or Ubuntu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Modifying the<\/strong> <strong>Registry<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>On a Windows Device, launch the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create the TLS 1.2 security protocol by setting up the necessary registry keys and their corresponding values. Download EXE Installer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"487\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1b3a25-1024x487.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-110461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1b3a25-1024x487.png 1024w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1b3a25-300x143.png 300w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1b3a25-768x366.png 768w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1b3a25.png 1479w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Okta-LDAP-Service-Configuration\"><strong>Configuring the Okta LDAP Service<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Launch the Okta LDAP Agent installer and follow the installation steps until you arrive at the LDAP Configuration stage, as illustrated below:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"627\" height=\"490\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1d322d.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-110463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1d322d.png 627w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Snag_4f1d322d-300x234.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Configuring JumpCloud&#8217;s Hosted LDAP Service with Okta LDAP Agent To integrate JumpCloud&#8217;s LDAP service for authentication via the Okta LDAP Agent, adjust the following settings:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>LDAP Server<\/strong>: Specify as <kbd>ldap.jumpcloud.com:636<\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Root DN<\/strong>: Set to ou=Users,o=YOUR_ORG_ID,dc=jumpcloud,dc=com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bind DN<\/strong>: Use uid=LDAP_BIND_USER,ou=Users,o=YOUR_ORG_ID,dc=jumpcloud,dc=com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bind Password<\/strong>: Enter the password for LDAP_BIND_USER<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SSL Connection<\/strong>: Turn on SSL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SSL Port<\/strong>: Set to 636<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disable the option <strong>Use FIPS certified encryption algorithms only<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proceed by clicking <strong>Next<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deselect the <strong>Use Proxy Server<\/strong> option and click <strong>Next<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate your Okta Org URL in the Okta Admin console&#8217;s address bar or under the Setup Wizard page within the Admin console.
