Once configured, users connecting through your Fortigate VPN or networking device can authenticate via LDAP with their JumpCloud credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>This configuration applies to most Fortigate devices, but screenshots and locations of settings within the Fortigate systems may vary with newer updates from the vendor.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configuring the LDAP Server <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To configure your Fortigate networking device to authenticate against JumpCloud\u2019s LDAP Servers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Log in to your Fortigate Admin Panel with your Administrator credentials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the left menu, navigate to&nbsp;<strong>User &amp; Authentication&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;<strong>&nbsp;LDAP Servers<\/strong> <strong>&gt;<\/strong> <strong>Edit LDAP Server<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the following settings:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Name: <\/strong><kbd>JumpCloud LDAP<\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Server IP\/Name: <\/strong><kbd>ldap.jumpcloud.com<\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Server Port: <\/strong><kbd>636<\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Common Name Identifier: <\/strong><kbd>uid<\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Distinguished Name: <\/strong><kbd>o=INSERT_ORG_ID_HERE,dc=jumpcloud,dc=com<\/kbd><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bind Type: <\/strong>select <strong>Regular<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Username: <\/strong>INSERT_LDAP_BIND_DN_HERE (<em>This would be like uid=ldapadmin,ou=Users,o=ORGID,dc=jumpcloud,dc=com<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Password: <\/strong>LDAP_BIND_DN_PASSWORD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable <strong>Secure Connection<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protocol: <\/strong>select <strong>LDAPS<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Certificate: <\/strong>Browse to and upload the Go_Daddy_Class_2_CA outlined in this <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/connect-to-ldap-with-tls-ssl\">LDAP article<\/a>.<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"382\" height=\"382\" class=\"wp-image-103265\" style=\"width: 382px\" src=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Edit-LDAP-server-window.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Edit-LDAP-server-window.jpg 382w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Edit-LDAP-server-window-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Edit-LDAP-server-window-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 382px) 100vw, 382px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Click <strong>Test Connectivity<\/strong> and ensure that the status is <strong>Successful<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>If the test fails, check your configuration settings and retry the connection. <\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>After the test is successful, click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now move on to configuring the permissions and ACLs within Fortigate to allow for User Authentication.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implementing LDAP Group Membership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To query JumpCloud User Groups via LDAP, use the following Fortigate CLI commands to modify the LDAP server configuration. This lets you manage access using JumpCloud User Groups associated with the LDAP server.
