WebShield, also known as Remote Browser Isolation, allows for secure website access through an isolated browser session. This adds a critical layer of security by preventing any direct interaction between the website and your user's endpoint.
Prerequisites
- You have Administrator permissions in Vault
- The Web Shield feature is enabled for your account
- If the website requires authentication, you have the necessary credentials
Adding the Website
- Log in to the Vault platform.
- Go to Websites and click +Add Website.
- Fill in the website's basic information, such as its Name and URI.
- Select the Web Shield checkbox. The Web Shield tab appears beside Autofill Parameters.
- If the website requires authentication, you will need to fill in the necessary credentials in the Credentials tab.
- Go to the Sharing Preferences section.
- Define which users and groups will have access to this website.
- Specify the exact permissions they will have (e.g., View, Connect).
Configuring WebShield Settings
This is where you customize the security and functionality of the isolated browser session.
- In the Web Shield tab, you can configure options such as:
- Enabling video recording of the session
- Disabling file transfers to or from the session
- Disabling the clipboard to prevent copy/paste
- Disabling the browser address bar and tabs for a more controlled experience
- Blocking all URIs except for the specified resource to restrict navigation
- Click Save.
The website is now configured and accessible to the users and groups you granted permissions to. They will be able to access it through a remote, isolated browser session, ensuring enhanced security.
