Troubleshoot: Display Sleep Timer Discrepancy in Energy Settings Policy

Symptom

The Turn Display off timer values in System Settings > Lock Screen do not match the values specified while creating the Policy.

Cause

The values specified for Display Sleep Timer while creating the policy are effective once the policy is applied. Although the timer will follow the values set in the Policy, a macOS limitation may cause different values to appear in System Settings > Lock Screen.

Solution

You can verify the effective values in the device policy settings.

• Go to System Settings and search Profiles in the search bar.
• Open the Energy Settings policy and check the Display Sleep Timer values.
