SaaS Management: Hexnode Connector

JumpCloud® SaaS Management gives you visibility and control over shadow IT and SaaS app use within your org. Connectors detect shadow IT without adoption of a browser extension and provide a significant increase to the valuable usage and security insights.

The Hexnode Connector retrieves user information from the Hexnode API. Using periodic polling for regular updates, it captures new users to keep data accurate and up-to-date.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a Hexnode admin with API access.

Considerations

  • Based on your organization’s size, the initial collection of data may take some time, up to an hour.

Configuring Hexnode

  1. Log in to Hexnode.
  2. In the Hexnode console, click the Admin tab.
  3. Under the General Settings section, select API.
  4. Copy your Organization ID. You'll need this for the JumpCloud configuration.
  5. In the Configure API section, you can generate a new API key.
  6. Copy and save the API token. You'll need this to complete the JumpCloud configuration.

Important:

For security reasons, you'll only see the API token once. Save it in a secure location before closing the window.

Configuring JumpCloud

  1. Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal.
  2. Go to SECURITY MANAGEMENT > SaaS Management > Settings.
  3. Under SaaS Management Settings, click the Connectors tab, then click + Add Connector.
  1. Select Hexnode and click Connect
  2. Configure the following settings:
    • Enter a Connector name.
    • For the API Key, paste the key from Hexnode.
    • In the Portal Name field, enter your portal name. For example, if your portal URL is https://myportal.hexnodemdm.com/, enter myportal.
  3. Click Save Connector. You will now see Hexnode in your list of Connectors.

Note:

If permissions are accidentally removed, or if the admin who configured left your organization, the connector will stop working and you will be prompted to Reconnect.

    • Get users to populate SaaS Management accounts.

Uninstall/Remove

  • On the Connector’s detail page, click on Delete Connector and follow the prompts.
