JumpCloud Agent Release Notes for September 28, 2026

New Agent release (version 2.185.0)

note

Agent releases are rolled out over the course of the week. You may not see these changes right away.

All OSes

Enhancements

  • Improved managed-device conditional access signaling, ensuring policy decisions better reflect true device trust state for managed users.

macOS

Enhancements

  • Improved VoiceOver and keyboard navigation in the Self Service App Catalog. This enhances accessibility of common actions like browsing, installing, and updating apps.
  • Improved installed version reporting for self service apps and added an update-all path when multiple catalog apps are out of date. This helps users stay current without updating each app individually.
  • Refined Menu Bar App and App Catalog accessibility hints and layout so screen-reader users get clearer guidance during installs and Device Admin flows.

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where notification action buttons on newer macOS releases did not reliably open the Menu Bar. Password changes, device admin tasks, and catalog actions are now one tap away from the menu bar.
  • Resolved an issue that blocked MDM inventory reporting after unenrollment when notification settings data was missing. Devices now move to the expected management state in the Admin Portal instead of remaining Managed.
  • Resolved App Catalog call-to-action button styling and behavior so required and optional apps show clear, tappable actions instead of disabled states.
  • Resolved software app version display issues and prevented unwanted reinstall loops when software app configuration refreshes. The catalog now correctly reflects what is installed.
  • Resolved App Catalog issues during refresh and uninstall paths. Pending installs now clear and the Installed list remains accurate.

Windows

Enhancements

  • Set the Windows credential provider to default to push MFA at login when available. This streamlines log in for users who rely on mobile approval.

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where background authentication noise from Microsoft Edge WebView2 counted toward account lockouts. Only genuine wrong-password attempts are now counted.
  • Resolved password complexity handling. Policy, login, and password change flows now accept valid passwords consistently instead of failing with generic "invalid password" errors.
  • Resolved sign in with the JumpCloud credential provider on devices that moved from Active Directory management. This includes adjusted account creation timeouts to ensure the first logon after migration succeeds.
  • Resolved MDM profile listener matching. Enrollment and compliance messages with varied source identifiers are now processed, improving reliability of profile delivery on managed devices.

Linux

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue that prevented writing Device User Refresh Token (DURT) and device-user key material when the GNOME Keyring and Secret Service collection was locked. Unlocking the collection first prevents silent failures for passwordless and browser extension login on Linux devices.
