While we are excited to offer regional data storage, please note that automated migration for existing JumpCloud environments to the India region is not currently supported. If you are looking to utilize the India region, here are your current options:

  • New Environments: Customers interested in regional deployment are encouraged to onboard and configure new environments directly within the India region during setup.
  • Custom Migration Services: For existing organizations that require a transition, migration is available via a custom paid engagement. Contact your JumpCloud account manager for more information. 
  • Pricing Details: Because every infrastructure is unique, migration costs are determined on a case-by-case basis. Factors influencing the cost include your specific integrations, total number of managed devices, software configurations, and overall environment complexity.

General Data Center and Infrastructure 

Where is the JumpCloud India region located?

JumpCloud India’s data center region is hosted in Mumbai. If the India region is selected, Customer Data will be stored at rest in the India region.

Which countries will the JumpCloud India region serve?

The JumpCloud India region is available to any organization that needs their data to be hosted within the India region. It serves organizations located in India and Asia-Pacific (list of countries is seen below). 

Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Korea (Republic of), Lao PDR, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. 

What certifications does JumpCloud hold? (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS)

JumpCloud maintains industry-standard certifications including SOC 2, ISO 27001. Additional compliance details are available upon request.

What type of infrastructure is used? (e.g., cloud provider, colocation, owned facility)

JumpCloud’s India region is hosted by a cloud provider (e.g., AWS, GCP) that leverages enterprise-grade cloud services, multi-AZ architecture, and secure networking capabilities.

What are the redundancy and disaster recovery measures in place?

JumpCloud’s India region is designed with multi-AZ redundancy and supports  failover strategies within the same region. Critical identity services are designed to maintain availability through distributed infrastructure and data protection mechanisms (within the same region). Disaster recovery procedures include backup, replication, and operational runbooks to restore services within defined recovery objectives.

Can customers operate across multiple regions simultaneously?

Currently, JumpCloud environments are deployed within a single selected region at the time of signup. Each organization operates independently within its chosen region. Multi-region deployments for a single organization are not supported at this time.

How does the India region affect pricing?

Signing up as a new customer and selecting the India region as your Primary Data Storage does not incur any additional costs for customers. Our pricing remains consistent with global JumpCloud offerings.

Are there any requirements for customers when choosing our India region?

Currently, only new customers in India and Asia-Pacific countries can choose this region during signup. For existing customers, custom migration services are available via a custom paid engagement, contact your JumpCloud account manager for more information.

 Data Privacy and Compliance  

Does JumpCloud comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act of 2023?

JumpCloud provides infrastructure capabilities that support organizations in aligning with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act of 2023, including regional data hosting and controlled access to data. Organizations remain responsible for ensuring their implementation meets regulatory requirements.

Where will customer personal data be stored and processed?

If the India region is selected, Customer Data associated with the JumpCloud platform is stored at rest in the India region. Certain platform operations may involve processing outside the region as defined in JumpCloud’s Data Processing Addendum (DPA), which can be found at jumpcloud.com/legal.

Who has access to our customer’s data?

JumpCloud customers have access to their data unless they have given access to a third-party to access their data. Relevant JumpCloud employees and JumpCloud sub-processors may also have access to such data subject to the terms of the DPA.

Can customers ensure that all data (including logs and metadata) remains within India?

Customer data associated with the JumpCloud platform is stored at rest within the India region. This includes core identity and directory data. Certain operational data, such as system logs, telemetry, or support-related metadata, may be processed outside the region as part of platform operations. JumpCloud continues to evaluate options to further enhance regional data handling capabilities.

Does the JumpCloud India Region provide India-only data processing?

JumpCloud's India region designates India as the primary storage location for customer tenant data, in support of data residency requirements. For the avoidance of doubt, processing activities, including those related to service delivery, support, and security, may be performed outside India by JumpCloud and its vetted sub-processors in accordance with applicable data protection obligations.

Note:

The scope of personal data processed by JumpCloud is limited to identity and access management attributes (e.g., username, IP address, location). JumpCloud has no access to, and does not retain, any payment or transaction information.

Product Performance 

Will the India region negatively impact the performance of any JumpCloud products or services?

The India region is designed to support the same JumpCloud platform capabilities including performance globally.

Are there benchmarks available for the India region?

The India region is designed to provide improved latency and performance for customers located in India and nearby geographies. Performance validation is ongoing during the Private Preview phase, and additional insights may be shared in future updates. All regions are subject to the same SLA.

Will all features of JumpCloud products be available in the India region?

Yes, the India region is designed to support all JumpCloud platform capabilities. Feature availability will follow standard rollout processes and may vary during preview phases.

Will new features be rolled out simultaneously in all data centers?

JumpCloud’s product feature rollouts adhere to a standardized release process, encompassing Private Preview, Public Preview, and General Availability stages. This established process is expected to apply for all releases, regardless of the Customer’s data center location.

How do customers sign up for the India region?
  1. During account registration in the JumpCloud Admin Portal, select India as your company's location.
  2. Once selected, a new option will appear allowing you to pick your Primary Data Storage region.
