Device Monitoring and Alerting in the Enterprise Portal (Preview)

The Enterprise Portal is specifically designed to allow remote Admins to do their work more efficiently using one browser-based portal. Admins can view and manage alerts across managed orgs through the Enterprise Portal.

Terminology:

  • Enterprise Portal: Portal where Enterprise Admins manage settings for multiple organizations under one Enterprise Configuration. Differs from the JumpCloud Admin Portal, which is for one organization
    • Enterprise (formerly Enterprise Configuration): Centralized hub for all the organizations' objects in the Enterprise Portal. Items can be created and shared for organizations in the Enterprise Portal from this hub
  • Organizations: A division of the enterprise (for example a region or a country) that maintains its own users, devices, and resources

Viewing Open Alerts

The Alerts dashboard offers a centralized interface for monitoring and managing all alerts within your organization. It provides a streamlined view of alerts, allowing you to stay informed and quickly address any issues using the available options.

To view open alerts:

  1. Log in to your Enterprise Portal.
  2. Go to Monitoring > Alerts.
    • Make sure you've selected a specific organization in the Enterprise dropdown menu to see and configure Alerts.
  3. The dashboard consists of four tabs that display alerts based on their status:
    • Open: Displays all open alerts that need attention.
    • Acknowledged: Displays all alerts that have been marked acknowledged.
    • Resolved: Displays all alerts that have been marked resolved.
    • All: Displays all alerts.

Configuring Rules for Device Monitoring and Alerting

You must configure the rules based on which the alerts will be created. You can configure the rules from the Rules dashboard.

  1. Go to Monitoring > Alerts > Rules.
  2. Click (+ Rule).
  3. Select a Rule Template, then fill out the Details, Conditions, and Actions. See Configure Rules for Device Monitoring and Alerting to learn more.
  4. Click Save.

The Rules dashboard opens displaying all the existing rules. You can create new rules, edit existing ones, change rule status, and delete rules from the dashboard.

Configuring Access Risk Detection

JumpCloud’s Access Risk Detection continuously monitors login activity across your organization and identifies logins that look suspicious. It works by learning how each of your users normally behaves (where they log in from, what devices they use, what times of day they are active) and then flagging logins that deviate from that established pattern.

Access Risk instantly evaluates threats by assigning a risk score and severity level, providing administrators with actionable insights into unusual behavior. Your admins can then investigate, mark the detection as safe, or confirm it as a genuine threat.

See Get Started: Access Risk Detection to learn more.
