Configure Mixpanel for the AI Gateway

To allow your users to securely query events, funnels, retention, and dashboards using their AI clients, you can configure the Mixpanel Model Context Protocol (MCP) server within the JumpCloud AI Gateway.

Prerequisites

• Before configuring specific enterprise applications, we recommend reviewing the Get Started: AI Gateway guide to familiarize yourself with the gateway architecture and core AI concepts (such as MCP servers and AI clients).

Completing Application Setup

Mixpanel’s MCP server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (DCR), so no app creation or additional configuration is required to connect it to the AI Gateway for interactive use. See Mixpanel’s Mixpanel MCP Server to learn more.

Before you configure the server in JumpCloud, ensure Mixpanel MCP access is enabled for your organization:

• For many newer free and growth accounts, MCP is enabled by default.
• For other accounts, an organization admin must enable MCP in Settings → Org → Overview. Changes can take up to 15 minutes to apply.

Configuring the Server in JumpCloud

See Adding MCP Servers in Configure AI Gateway Integrations and use the following values to configure this server:

• App: Select Mixpanel (if you have an existing SSO application or bookmark), or + Add App to create it
• Name: Enter a name, for example Mixpanel
• Prefix: Enter a value to prepend to MCP tool names
  • Note: Prefixes must be unique. Maximum 8 characters, letters and numbers only
• URL: Enter the Mixpanel MCP server URL depending on your region:
  • US: https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp
  • EU: https://mcp-eu.mixpanel.com/mcp
  • IN: https://mcp-in.mixpanel.com/mcp
• MCP authentication method: OAuth
• Advanced fields: Not required

Your users will now see Mixpanel listed as an available application when they authenticate their AI clients through the JumpCloud AI Gateway.
