People of JumpCloud | Pam Lefkowitz

People are the lifeblood of any organization, but so rarely do they receive the spotlight like the innovative applications and services, company missions, and devoted customer communities they work so hard to create. We want to change that.

At JumpCloud every individual makes a difference, and their work matters no matter what function they hold. This ongoing series aims to showcase the personalities and contributions of every JumpCloudian and share the spotlight with the people who work hard every day to help Make Work HappenTM.

Pam Lefkowitz (She/Her)
IT Columnist
Lincolnwood, IL

We recently caught up with Pam Lefkowitz about what it’s like to work as an IT Columnist at JumpCloud.

When did you start working at JumpCloud? August 2021.

Can you run us through a day in the life of your role at JumpCloud? Read email, attend meetings, research new column ideas, read news, participate in the MacAdmins Slack, read through new posts in the JumpCloud Community, and write new columns. Every interaction in my day offers me new ideas to flesh out for my articles. Every conversation is a potential new column.

How have you grown as an individual since starting at the company? I am a million times less stressed since joining JumpCloud. Working on a team instead of by myself has taught me how to fully listen when others are talking. I don’t have to have all the answers.

Pick a JumpCloud value (Build Connections, Think Big, 1% Better Every Day) and share an example of how you lived that value recently. Build Connections – While I enjoy meeting new people, it’s sometimes uncomfortable for me. Everyone here makes it easy to have a conversation and I love being on multiple cross-team projects – it helps me understand how all the cogs fit together.

What is something that you have accomplished at JumpCloud that you are proud of? One of my LinkedIn posts was in the top 10 organic drivers to the JumpCloud site. That was pretty exciting for someone who isn’t skilled at social media!

What keeps you energized about working at JumpCloud? The respect my team has for each other. We are all so different, yet we operate as this amazing, cohesive unit. It honestly flows from the top down throughout the entire department.

What do you like to do on your days off? When I’m not traveling out of state to see my kids and grandkids, I like quiet days with my dog, watching old black and white movies, doing pilates, and creating things with fiber.

What advice do you have for prospective JumpCloud candidates? Don’t be afraid to be your authentic self. Show us how talented you are, but also show us who you are! There’s space for all kinds of people here.

What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it? Devoted by Dean Koontz because what could be bad about a network of dogs who mind-communicate?

What is your 15 minutes of fame? Becoming an expert on Domain Name System (DNS), leading me to be known for the phrase “It’s Always DNS.”

Do you have any pets as in-house colleagues? I own a rescue pup named Harper Lee. She is a puppy artist!
