We recently caught up with Mari Sharpe about what it’s like to work as Senior Marketing Campaign Manager at JumpCloud.
When did you start working at JumpCloud? August 2021.
Can you run us through a day in the life of your role at JumpCloud? Every day is different! Campaign management can mean many things, but typically each day involves checking in with other team members on the status of various initiatives as part of a campaign, tracking how each project is doing, attending or leading planning meetings, proofing emails, ads, or landing pages, and communicating with key stakeholders how things are moving.
How have you grown as an individual since starting at the company? JumpCloud has been a great place to expand not only my project management skills but leadership skills, too. I’ve grown in my communication and presentation skills as well as gained confidence.
Pick a JumpCloud value (Build Connections, Think Big, 1% Better Every Day) and share an example of how you lived that value recently. 1% Better Every Day – Every campaign we run, whether big or small, is slightly different and nuanced. Meaning, there’s always something to learn and apply to the next campaign! I’m constantly evolving how I prioritize, organize, and communicate a particular project and doing retros after each campaign helps clarify what worked, what didn’t, and how to improve future campaigns.
What is something that you have accomplished at JumpCloud that you are proud of? I think I’d hardly been here two months by the time I fully managed a new campaign from start to finish – figuring out all of the key assets that we needed developed, identifying who the stakeholders and creators of all content/design/analytics were, and figuring out how to communicate effectively to my immediate team and broader company.
What keeps you energized about working at JumpCloud? The pace! Things happen quickly, you are kept on your toes, and no day is the same. But this leads to great collaboration and forces you to solve problems in creative ways.
What do you like to do on your days off? I like to bring my German short-haired pointer, Rocky, to the dog park or for a mountain hike, attend sporting events with my husband, check out the latest restaurants in our neighborhood, and hang out with friends.
What advice do you have for prospective JumpCloud candidates? Try to learn from as many people as possible here – there are so many talented, thoughtful, and intelligent people who want to see not only JumpCloud, but everyone within JumpCloud, succeed.
What is your 15 minutes of fame? Not necessarily 15 minutes of fame, but my great-grandfather’s name was Harry Potter. So there’s that.
If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Chocolate ice cream.
Do you have any pets as in-house colleagues? Yes, my German short-haired pointer, Rocky.
