About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Director of UX to scale our team through our next phase of growth and beyond. You’ll lead and shape a talented team of designers and researchers.You’ll set UX strategy in line with our business goals, and you’ll motivate the team to execute at a high level. You’ll also build a design center of excellence that finds the right balance of in house talent and agency support to scale up or down based on design needs for the business.
We have a unique market window, so you’ll be expected to bring your creativity, experience, and sense of urgency to drive UX Strategy, key initiatives, and the team forward. You’ll partner with product and engineering leadership, engineers, designers, product managers, and marketing leaders to plan, drive, and execute. You’ll have direct access to our seasoned executive leadership team and support from our board and investors. No egos, just a passionate team working together to solve customer problems, deliver an amazing experience, and build a great business.
Key Challenges You’ll Tackle:
Analyze, design, and communicate UX and Product Design strategy in line with business goals.
Lead UX team to execute against strategy, integrate new learnings, and manage competing design needs.
Evolve our Design Ops strategy to support scale.
Partner with marketing to ensure consistent brand experience across all customer interactions.
Recruit and develop extraordinary talent through coaching, managing, and mentoring.
You’ll Be a Great Fit if You Have:
7+ years of experience leading and managing teams of designers and researchers.
Degree in HCI, Visual Design, or related field of study (or work experience in lieu of degree).
Demonstrated ability to deliver SaaS products with elegant interactions and visual design.
Strong ability to inspire all levels of your team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, at all levels of the organization and with customers.
Demonstrated ability to work in and lead UX in an Agile environment.
Demonstrated ability to scale UX function. Deep UX toolkit to tailor approach and methodology appropriate for the context.
Ability to challenge assumptions respectfully and give and receive feedback with grace.
Creative problem solving ability to identify obstacles and viable solutions.
Outcome-orientation. Ability to articulate the desired outcome and work collaboratively to create a path to achieve it.
Bonus points for:
Direct experience in marketing, product management, and/or engineering.
Experience with IT-related technologies such as directory services, LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, MultiFactor Authentication, MDM or similarly complex technologies.
Where you’ll be working
All our roles are remote in the U.S. unless otherwise specified. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area. Once we reopen our offices you will have the opportunity to remain fully remote (in the U.S.), work from one of our office locations (CO only currently) or flex your time.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $150,000-$215,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. JumpCloud provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and 401k benefits. We have an unlimited vacation policy and also provide commuter benefits for employees in the Denver/Boulder, CO area.
