Position: Software Architect, SaaS
We’re looking for an experienced Software Architect to provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams in our new Denver office, and partner with other Software Architects in the company to help shape our overall technical strategy. You’ll be leading the design and implementation of game changing features for our customers that will help us scale the business by helping customers service their own needs. This Self-Service organization is tasked with building both SaaS and enterprise class products for managing our directory and authentication class of services. What you’ll be doing:
  • Work directly with executives and principal engineers to orient the self-service team’s strategy with the company goals.
  • Lead technical design and vet critical technologies early on to reduce risk.
  • Partner with product and engineering management in shaping the long term roadmap for Self Service in the JumpCloud product.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in SaaS technologies that must function robustly and at scale.
  • Design and implement APIs that will be used by our customers.
  • Design and implement user interfaces that will be used by our customers.
  • Have a major impact across the engineering org by mentoring and informally leading other engineers; help engineering teams continuously improve our processes, techniques and technologies by being a great software engineer.
We’re looking for…
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience developing large-scale web applications, SaaS applications in the cloud (AWS a plus) or large, distributed systems.
  • 8+ years of commercial software development experience in a variety of languages (Java, Python, C, Go, Javascript, or C++) with a strong interest to work with Go, Node.js, and Vue.js.
  • Experience with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, or Saltstack.
  • Solid understanding of API design.
  • You lead by example and you’re very capable of rolling up your sleeves and writing production code.
